Great for emergencies
This is a great little air pump for emergencies. We get a lot of hurricanes in TX, those come with power outages, so this pump is a lifesaver.

Comes with air diffuser
The Pawfly Aquarium Battery Operated Air Pump uses two “D” cell batteries, which are not very common anymore, so if this is your only air pump and the batteries become exhausted during the night, you better have more batteries on hand or you will be visiting the store. The noise isn’t terrible, but air pumps are usually placed out of sight, so the noise level is ignorable. I thought it was a great bonus for there to be an air diffuser included (shipped in the battery compartment)!

I was suprised
After a Florida rain shower, I drained it, and it still worked!

Good air pump uses batteries but loud
If you have too many items “plugged in” electrical outlets, this is a good option, as it is battery operated. 2 D batteries. I like this item, but it is super loud.

Drains costly size D batteries.
This product drains batteries too quick! Size D batteries cost just as much as this device. Not buying again anytime soon.

value pump
This is a decent little aerator pump. If you want to keep baitfish/minnows alive in a bucket, or don’t need a permanent aerator, it will serve you well. It gives about the same amount of air as any other aquarium pump this size. As other reviews have noted, it’s not really quiet, but it is portable, which is the big benefit here. It serves the function that you’d expect from a battery powered pump.My review process: 5*- Blew me away, features that are much better than anticipated (rare). 4*- Product is as expected, and good quality. This is a STRONG review. 3* – Product should function, but has minor flaws. (Average product) 2*- Product may work, but won’t last long/cheaply made/major flaws/issues, item failure w/ some remediation from seller. 1* – Poor item/failure during use, or before, no remediation from seller.

Decent Battery Powered Aquarium Air Pump
This pump delivers a fair amount of air, about what a standard low end aquarium pump does, and it does it via battery powerâtwo D batteries to be precise. It even comes with a short length of air tubing and an air stone. The build quality is pretty basic. There are, for instance, no sound absorbing feet to keep the pump from vibrating whatever itâs on. Like some other reviewers I can confirm this thing is loud. Of course, since itâs battery operated I think we can divine that it wasnât designed for a typical fish hobbyist to aerate their aquarium, but for someone transporting live fish, so making it bedroom or living room quiet wouldnât have been a priority. It is what it is. If theyâd added some sound absorption and an external power supply option it would have been a jack of all trades, but that wasnât the design intent. I wonât tell you the build quality is extraordinary because it isnât. It was clearly built to a price point. For instance, the batteries stretch the case when theyâre inserted. Also, the air output doesnât really work with standard vinyl aquarium tubingâitâs too big, but the included tubing is soft rubber and does stretch to fit that larger than normal output. Despite its shortcomings it works. I ran the thing for five hours on one set of batteries and it was pushing as much air at the end (as near as I could tell) as it was at the beginning. Is it extraordinary? No. But if youâre looking for a basic aquarium air pump, and you need battery power, consider this one. Figuring out how many stars to give it was difficult. I was kind of leaning towards three, but Iâll give it four because I canât take anything off for what itâs not, and despite its basic construction it worked flawlessly for me.

Stopped working, despite newly purchased D cells, after 30hrs. Cells replaced x 2.
