Excellent – no more bad sheds!
This is by far the best humid hide I’ve ever purchased. I own 3 leopard geckos and decided to test this out with one of them. While the large size is smaller than you might expect, it fits my girl perfectly and she’s quite a chunk. It didn’t dry out overnight like the other 3 hides I’ve gone through, and it also didn’t raise the humidity too much in the rest of the tank. She had a perfect shed with no help needed. I’ll be buying two more for my other two tanks. I highly recommend one of these if your geckos have been struggling with bad sheds.

Effective as a humid hide
It is a bit small (size large), but my leopard gecko uses it with no trouble. Sometimes she even sits in the top recessed area against one side and keeps low. Instead of filling the recessed area with water, I usually just spray water all over the hide and inside if needed. If I am leaving for a few days, I add water to the basin area. Works well. Don’t drop it! I like the glazed bottom area.

Gets Moldy
This is an awesome hide and works well with my leopard gecko. It’s made of the same sort of stuff a chia pet is made of so when you put the water in the top it soaks in through the whole hide. This does make the water go pretty quickly but it’s no big deal as long as you keep an eye to keep it filled.My only real problem with this hide is that you really need to wash it regularly, like maybe once a week, because if under the right conditions I found mold growing on the hide, luckily all the mold was on the outside but it is still a problem. However, as long as you take good care of your reptile and make sure to thoroughly clean this hide once a week you should have no problems!

She won’t come out of there!
This hide is awesome. My Leo will not come out of there. It stays wet to the touch and the moss and my leo is moist. I originally was going to return it because i thought it was too small, but she doesn’t go in any of the other hides any longer. She balls up and sleeps and stays asleep.

Too small and poor packaging
Too small for an adult gecko but came cracked so had to go back anyway. Wouldn’t have kept it. I have an adult and he couldn’t fit inside

My leopard gecko really loves it
Itâs made out of clay pottery so itâs hard to clean due to the rough surface. I donât understand why it wanted me to rate suction because there is none. My gecko prefers this to anything else.

Greate humid hide
We got three of these, one for each of our leopard geckos. They love them, I am able to go longer without having to fill them. (I was having to fill them twice a day)

At first I thought this was perfect, arrived exactly as described and my leopard gecko appeared to like it. Then I began to notice the overall humidity in his entire tank was going up to an unacceptable level. The problem is that the exterior of the product is not fully glazed, so when the terracotta absorbs the water, much of it evaporates from the exterior instead of just within the cave, this leads to the entire terrarium becoming excessively humidified. This would be fine for a tropical reptile, but that’s not the point of this product, humid hides are supposed to provide small, contained humid environments for desert reptiles to aid them when they shed, without humidifying the rest of their enclosure.
