First one broken, second one perfect
When we first got this light, it did not come with the power cable and the bulb was audibly broken (could hear shards inside rattling around).We went through the return and replace process which was straightforward and the second one we received was perfect.Upon plugging it in, we had concerns the bulb was broken as it wasnât lighting up, but after a couple minutes it was bright. Since that initial âboot-upâ the light turns right on with no issues everytime.My bf and I are very pleased with the length and the brightness of this light.

First purchase – hardware and bulb was missing, returned and purchased this item again – second time – BULB BROKEN IN PIECES and I was nearly cut!!!! I will give the product itself a 4 star ( after i purchased my own bulb) the product works as it should and my dragon loves it!

meh- you get what you pay for (probably)
first bulb came broken- that was fine it got replaced easy enough. however the replacement bulb didnât even last as long as the whole procedure took to finish, it was dead within 2 weeks of use, being turned off at night. not rly worth it, the rest of the set up seems to work and hopefully with a better bulb itâll be fine, but i shouldâve just gotten the more expensive high quality fixtures to begin with. itâs not super bright to begin with and definitely doesnât function as a stand alone heat lamp.

Nice quality light!
Building a new terrarium for my tarantula requires a solid foundation to start. Tarantulas donât require UV wavelengths, but I wanted to provide an encouraging environment for live plants in the new setup. When I first ordered this lamp, I thought it would fit a twelve inch tank, but itâs actually best if the tank length is at least fourteen so the light body can sit raised on the provided brackets. It secures the lamp better and gives more space between the tank frame and potentially hot fixture. The only puzzling thing was a sticker like arrow tab I thought was for peeling off a protective film , but it looks like itâs just part of the reflective silver surface. I love that the lamp allows for three different mounting options and includes the hardware for all of them. Canât wait to get the landscaping going next! Iâll try to remember to come back and update.

My bearded dragon needed a new hood for her tank. Her old one broke, so this is perfect. I like this one better because it’s more streamlined and sleek. It’s a perfect size. I think it’s a great value.It was easy to put the light bulb into the hood. I just set it on top of the tank. The frame on the tank is metal, so it won’t melt.

So far, so good…
I’ve been using this light fixture for the past couple of months now, and so far it’s held up well without any issues.As I write this, the current listing price is $58.99 USD. From my somewhat limited research into these types of T5 lighting fixtures for reptiles, that price is a lot better than that of its higher-end counterparts, but, in that same vein, I will say that I’ve heard some negative reviews about this brand, as well as other similar off-brand or lower-quality fixtures like it.I do still plan on getting the higher-end ones at some point, but I can’t afford them yet, so I went for this one in the meantime. I don’t have one of those fancy meters that shows how much UVA/B the light puts off, so hopefully another reviewer can tackle that part.But so far this light has been working perfectly for me, so I’m hoping that it stays that way. I’ve been running it every day on a 12-hour cycle, and I think the only issue that I’ve encountered so far is just that the cord managed to wiggle its way partway out of the fixture one day, because it was during a period of time where my setup necessetated moving the lights around more frequently than usual.I haven’t used any of the mounting equipment so far, as I’ve been using it on top of the enclosure, but I’m glad that it comes with the necessary pieces should I decide to install it inside of the enclosure someday.The bulb was nicely packaged in a sturdy cardboard tube with plastic end caps, ensuring that it didn’t get broken or otherwise messed up on its way to me.I’m hoping that this fixture and bulb last me a while; however, I believe that these bulbs are recommended to be switched out every six months or so, so as long as it makes it that long, then I’m happy with it.
