How to Release Fly Parasites:

To release, simply sprinkle Fly Parasites near manure and then lightly cover to protect from birds or hang release bags off the ground to protect from birds and rodents out of direct sunlight. Height is not critical. Fly Parasites will self-distribute up to 100 yards. In early spring, Fly Parasites should be released at first sight of flies.

Top release sites include; barns, stables, kennels, manure/urine-soaked bedding, chicken coops, on feedlots, and wherever straw bedding is provided for animals.

Other potential fly-breeding areas include; compost piles, garbage cans, septic tanks, and near water sources, but not directly in.

*Release Fly Exterminators monthly during the warm months.

*Every order includes Hatching Release Bags to keep fly Exterminators SAFE and out of reach of birds and rodents.

Fly Parasites feed on Horse Fly, House Fly, and Filth Fly. These tiny flying insects are completely biteless, stingless, and do not bother humans or animals. Fly Parasites go virtually unnoticed, only flying inches off the ground. This package contains Fly Parasites in a parasitized pupae stage and will be hatching or close to hatching upon receival.
Eggs can take 7-14 days to hatch at 70 DF or higher
Release Pouches Included!
Harmless to humans, pets, birds, beneficial insects
Release monthly during the warm weather months

    3 species/varieties of fly exterminators.
I got a large bag of 20,000 exterminators. It did take awhile for them to hatch, most likely because it was still chilly when they arrived. The first really warm day, they started hatching. These exterminators are comprised of 3 different species, which wasn’t clear in the info, but was clear on the packaging and in the photos listed. I was happy to discover this, and this makes the productmore useful. The little mesh bags are nice addition, altho I recommend using a twist tie to attach them to fencing, as the little cardboard hanger will get wet being outside. Overall, I would purchase this product again. Customer service was helpful and knowledgeable when I called about the hatching process. I’m happy with my purchase.

    golly……read reviews before buying
Followed instructions….never worked. I’ve used predatory flies before direct (non – Amazon) and didn’t have a problem. These fell in line with other reviews that I was worried about.

    Are they really working?
At first I thought these little guys were working great, but then it started to warm up and we have so many flys! I had even released the next round early and over estimated for the number of animals I have. I started releasing early spring to try and get ahead of it. Also the release/hatching bags are inconsistent in sizing. One order of 20,000 the bags were large and worked well, the next order of 20,000 we got maybe 4 bags and they were tiny. This is very frustrating because I have a lot of chickens so I don’t want to just sprinkle them on the ground. I had to go and empty old bags undoing the staples.I’ll order one more time but if I don’t see results in the next month or so I’m switching suppliers. One more thing when I went to go get an old bag that had been put out weeks ago I could see the little parasites on the bag, it looked like they just had hatched or something. Now I feel like I have to wait to see them start to appear before putting them out.

    Have two Halflingers
OK, so the product does work in cooler weather. It takes longer for the flies to hatch leave eggs in the bag until you start to see the tiny predators. Keep the bag out of the sun the warmer the weather, the faster the predators will hatch keep them in the bag until you see the beginning of them hatching again leave the bag out of the sun, once you see the predators starting to hatch put them in the bags they give you use a piece of wire through the top of the bag and hang on trees around my paddock along with the liquid fly catchers with the bait in them still using those two methods you will still have some flies not a lot. They do not get rid of all the different flies, but the relief that my Haflingers get is quite noticeable at least 75 to 85% of a difference in the fly population which in my opinion is awesome

    Moisture in the bag
I have used Spaulding predator flies for years but the Good Guys ones seemed more economical. Sadly, the 2 shipments came with a significant moisture build up inside the bag. The number of flies that emerged fell short of my expectations. Now I’ve gone back to Spaulding’s.

    Finally got flies under control
These little exterminators really work. . We have livestock around our house and the flies were awful! We started putting these out at the end of May and wished we had actually started with them around the 1st of April. The trick is introducing new packages about every 4 weeks. We found we can go a little longer between applications if there is not a lot of rain. We bought more than we needed for our initial order (10). Since our first application, we have only ordered half of our original order to introduce (5). We still have some flies but not nearly as many. They really have helped us keep the fly situation under control!
