Best bang for your buck!
Wow! I feel like I got a great deal on this one. I ordered 20lbs that was available at the time for ~$45 plus a $5 coupon. Pictured is what I got, and I am very pleased. The packaging was very well done, double-boxed. The slate pieces themselves are just as described with 3-4 very long pieces, a majority of them mid sized and a handful of small and thin pieces. I was able to make this centerpiece in my 75gal peacock tank. If you were looking for grey slate pieces at a very fair price, look no further! Would order here again in a heartbeat! Keep up the great quality!

Didnât get the full 20 pounds
These came in really nice and were perfect to stack in our tank to make a cave for our fish. They rinsed off good and I didnât have to do much cleaning to them so that was nice. I ended up making them all work in our tank and they stacked good without having to glue too. My only con to it was that I ordered 20 pounds and I only got 18 and that included the box they came in. Otherwise itâs a good product.

Nice rock!
Good quality and size. Had ordered 40 pounds and didnât use it all. One of the 20 pound boxes had rock that was full of iron that I wouldnât put into an aquarium. The return/swap was painless and fast.

READ BEFORE YOU BUY
I got these for my 75 gallon tank with the intention of stacking to make a nice arch way. Firstly some of the rocks are as pictured and others are super thick and don’t resemble the pic at all, i understand they are rocks it’s not one is the same but i expected much more SLATE appearance. Almost all of them also have this rust discoloration on them and aren’t very appealing. All in all they will work but not what i envisioned. Better of trying someone else or most of all just getting from a store.

Misleading âAquarium Safeâ Claim â Beware of Rusting Issues
I purchased these slate rocks specifically because they were advertised as âaquarium safe,â and I intended to use them in my terrarium setup. While the rocks look great and were the perfect size and shape, I noticed a major issue after washing them with distilled water: several of the rocks developed orange spots or discoloration, which appears to be rust.This suggests the rocks might contain iron or other minerals that are leaching when exposed to moisture, something I wouldnât exp ect from a product labeled as âaquarium safe.â I carefully followed all preparation steps (washing thoroughly with distilled water), and I even tested them afterward. The fact that the discoloration appeared raises questions about the quality and accuracy of the product description.If you plan to use these in a moist environment like an aquarium or terrarium, I strongly recommend testing them first to ensure they wonât cause issues. While the slate itself is beautiful and natural-looking, I am disappointed in the lack of proper testing or treatment to make them truly inert.I would advise caution before purchasing if you need rocks that wonât leach or discolor over time.

For the cost of the rocks ($25.98) you expect to get what you payed for and what is advertised..Most of the rocks were nice pieces.
