They go thru half biscuit a day but waste a lot plus they like fresh moist food better …
I have a breeding pair of parrotlets so they both need calcium especially my hen.. I make their food into birdie bread and they thrive on it. In fact the vet wanted my bird bread recipe. Anyway I tried putting a table spoon of this calcium powder in their bread and they didn’t seem to notice so I’ve done so ever since. This puts a hefty amount of calcium in each of the 8 biscuits i make at a time. They go thru half biscuit a day but waste a lot plus they like fresh moist food better than this mornings dry crumbs. So I refresh their food twice a day.My female has now laid 17 eggs absolutely no problem. Her first two had soft shells but with her 3 egg the shells were smooth and uniform. I’ve read horror stories of egg bound parrots and if this product can prevent that problem then yeah I’m all for it. Fufills my needs quite nicely.This stuff is really fine and will go everywhere it you aren’t careful. You’ll figure it out.

This is not water soluble as described
Morning bird products are always a good choice. I purchased the powder as opposed to the liquid calcium for shelf life and because it said I could add to water. The container comes with no instructions for mixing in drinking water. Will always choose the liquid from here on out.

Calcium for birds
Iâm sure that this product would work better for those birds who arenât given food with vitamins added to it. The extra vitamin D, added to the calcium powder, caused diarrhea in my bird. Please keep that tidbit in the back of your mind when purchasing.Otherwise, this product is very easy to use over food or to dilute in water.
