    Fast and easy to use
Fast and simple to use. Instructions are clear and easy. Comes with formulas for manual calculation or there is an included sheet that tells you the numbers. The square bottles felt a little awkward at first but they only released liquid when gently squeezed and worked fine.As for accuracy, it’s hard to say since I don’t have a comparable. My local water report does not break down calcium or magnesium levels. I do know that my area is a limestone heavy region, so the calcium levels were high, as expected (high GH and KH from tap). However I was not able to pull any magnesium levels from my freshwater planted tank or tap water (water softener off and cold water line cleared). Which leaves it a little questionable.Bottle 1, 2 and 3 all have different amounts in them. #2 felt the lightest and wasn’t sure if my test was missing regent. I contacted the seller and they verified #2 had less regent compared to #1.Overall, I’m satisfied with the test. It confirmed my thoughts.

    Inbstructions for interpretation are poor.
The results I got are not listed in the paperwork provided. I had to contact company for an interpretation of my results. Pretty poor. How difficult can it be to list all possible results in the instructions. Otherwise, it is easy to use.

The only easy to use Ca and Mg test kit around that will last you a long time
I like the ease of use. If you have high Mg water, you may see particles floating in the test tube, use the solution color change and once you have your aquarium water lower in Mg those particles should not appear. It gives you a range for the Mg, that stretches from solution color change to when the particles also change color from pink to blue. Using the liquid test solutions from API was exhausting both myself and the supply of drops, used half the bottle on one test of water hardness GH so this kit will last much longer and be quicker to use.

    You must be a chemist
Box and items intact. Instructions easy to follow for testing. HOWEVER, the interpretation of results is beyond the average person to follow. It requires math equations and the chart is impossible to follow. all I know is 2 drops changed the color. But no clue what that means. So useless.

This is a very quick way to find your Calcium and Magnesium quantities in fresh water.
I have a multitude of aquarium test kits and this one is one of the best.Read the directions on the box and the formulas for both Cal. and Mag. or use the chart they give you andinput your test results.Once you have it down, the tests are very fast.

    Expired product
I received this product and couldn’t figure out why the test results weren’t adding up and then I looked at the expiration date and this test kit expired in 2020. Not happy.Replacement sent. Same expiration date and lot number. Contacted Monitor and they explained the date. One website says it’s expired, the company says it isn’t.Regardless the magnesium testing is complicated especially if you have other things in your tank such as fertilizers.. which most planted aquariums have. I bought this to make sure my Ca / Mg ration was where it needed to be for my shrimp tank.

    Seems good
I bought this for a planted aqurium. I was sure I was having a magnesium deficency. Tested for calcium first, as the test indicates to do so. Calcium level was 120ppm, next tested for magnesium result came out as 0ppm. Then I dosed 20ppm of magnesium, re-did the test for magnesium as I already have the result for calcium. Test came out as around 20ppm of magnesium.
