great for stretching and scratching
Great for long cats. She loves sitting on top of it. Only took one day and she claimed it as hers that night. It is pretty sturdy too. My cat doesn’t weigh a lot but is very long. She loves stretching and scratching the whole length of it. It was well worth the money. So far she has left my new living room chairs alone and goes straight to her post. Thanks for a quality product.

This is an amazing cat scratching post. Very easy to assemble and my 4 month old Maine Coon loves it.Just by looking at the photo itself, itâs tall and sturdy, and most importantly, doesnât tip over. My kitty loves to charge towards it and climb to the top so he can watch the birds and squirrels. By having this cat post, he hasnât scratched any of my furniture.Totally would recommend to anyone looking for a sturdy and heavy scratching post.

Best scratching post for large cats
I didn’t realize our tiny Siamese-mix kitten was going to grow into a 15-lb., 28″ long (not counting tail, and still growing) cat.Most standard scratching posts top out at about 30″. We realized this wasn’t going to be enough to let the big guy stretch properly when he started going after the backs of the 35″ high counter-height dining chairs and sofa.This scratching post has been the salvation of our furniture. Not only is it tall enough, this heavy-duty post is sturdy enough that the heavy-duty cat can get a running start and go for a good climb. Both of our cats seem to enjoy using it daily, and the rope isn’t showing noticable wear yet.Assembly was very simple, with only four parts to screw together, no special tools required. The base is just large enough to give it decent stability. I can see the post rock a little when the cat is particularly aggressive, but it won’t overturn and the cat certainly isn’t deterred from climbing to the top.As cat furniture goes, it’s about averagely attractive – I could wish for more colors or darker rope, but this is the only post I could find that was both long enough and reasonably priced, short of investing in the equipment to make my own.

Sturdy and very long lasting scratch post!
This scratch post is well made, very sturdy for being so tall and a great price. My two large cats use it daily and prefer it over their smaller posts as they can fully stretch out when scratching. They also love perching on the top. It’s been 8 plus years since I purchased this and the sisal rope is still holding strong, no unraveling, just the normal snags. Great product!

I do not often leave a review but this product is exceptional. My cats are huge(maine coons) and they absolutely love this post. It is able to handle their weight (>25 lbs each) without tipping over,awesome! I am ordering a second one.

Perfect for our first kitty.
We were looking for a tree that was tall so our new addition could access my daughter’s loft bed. This tree checked all my boxes. 1) relatively small base; 2) NOT BEIGE; 3) tall; 4) scratching posts.The post positions in the base are symmetrical and enable you to assemble with the perched cozy bed on either the right or left. Instructions don’t indicate that, but thinking mirror image enabled me to do just that so it’s perfect for us. The two multi-fabric platforms are attached to supporting posts with bolts (allen wrench tool is provided to screw them in) and black plastic caps are provided for a finished look. The caps don’t fit as securely as I’d like, so we left them off for fear of kitty removing and possibly eating them. This is our first kitty so I may be overcautious to think of cats like toddlers who will put anything in their mouths.I was impressed with the quality of this tree. Edges are all finished, posts are fat and heavy. The top platform screws onto the post, then the cozy bed has a flange that slips over the platform and is secured with a drawstring. The listing photo makes it look like it just has a raised edge toward the back, but it is much more like a small cave. The pillow in the bed seems a bit overstuffed, but will probably flatten some with time and use.My only complaint is the packaging. The carton in which the tree arrived was probably not rated for the weight of the item. The edges of the carton were torn and it appeared that tape had been used to keep it together through rough handling during shipping. I was mostly concerned about the small parts (bolts, tool, etc.) bag being lost in transport, but all was okay. If Midwest reads reviews here, I’d advise them to upgrade the packaging quality or reinforce all edges before shipping.

BEST scratching post for tall (long) kitties
We purchased this item in March of ’19 and are replacing it (5/25). It is the best scratching post I have found, and since my cats are long and fully grown, it is the best one I’ve seen! It has withstood six cats for six years! I was not even upset that the rope doesn’t cover ALL of the hard cardboard core. Little things like that don’t bother us, it’s just for the babies, not for me! LOL! I will give this old one to someone who can repair it and use it themselves. Just had to get a new one.

Perfect for large cats
So good I had to get another after ~3 years of use with two large cats. (Mainecoon mix ~20lbs & DMH ~13 lbs). The height is great for large cats. and the unit is fairly simple to assemble, the tower comes in two separate pieces that honestly donât need to be joined together if you want to use for a smaller cat.I only took off a star because the base should be reinforced for cats that like to climb and perch on top. It is attached to the base through a single thick screw and is fairly sturdy, however I ended up using L-brackets to reinforce the original one after a while so my cats can climb worry free. They were very happy to get a new one. There is no lingering smell or odor. Just the smell of the sisal rope which some may actually enjoy.This cat scratcher absolutely beats other XL cat scratchers iâve seen in the market and is definitely still a great investment.

Kitten loves it. End of review.But wish the surface at the very top was bigger, so that the cats can lay comfortably up there, wish it was also taller in height- but aside from that it is very sturdy/solid, great quality, excellent purchase and defo recommend for anyone contemplating it.
