Does the Job – Bought Two
Yep – this bubble box does the job perfectly. Keeps my shrimp alive and well all day. I use two Duracell D size batteries and this bubble box never skips a beat. When the day is done, I take a few minutes to clean it up, dry it out and remove the batteries. Put everything back together and in a plastic ziplock bag for next time. FYI: For a sturdy re-usable bait bucket, I use an empty 25lb bucket used previously for pool chlorine tablets. It has a great screw on lid and a good handle. I drill some holes in the lid for air and an extra hole for the bubbler hose. Hang the bubble box on the outside of the bucket with the clip that comes with it, screw on the bucket lid – and you’re good to go. Before using a chlorine bucket for the first time, be sure to clean it out real good with soap and water. And leave it out in the sun for a day to dry and burn off any residual chlorine. Ask for ‘extra bait water’ when you buy your bait. The extra volume will help your bait last longer. Great bubble box. Bought two. Gave one to a friend. Highly recommend.

Works better than more expensive aerators, but plastic covers are cheap.
I’ve had this and used it for ice fishing for 4 years now. It’s been in cold and wet conditions many times. The battery life is very good and it bubbles better than the one that came with my Engel bait cooler.This year both the plastic cover tabs and hinges broke off in cold weather. With them being plastic this is bound to happen eventually.Overall really good value for the money, but doesn’t last forever.

Perfect!
Great for keeping live bail alive while transporting to the pier or for jetty fishing. Batteries last a LONG time. Runs fine with one cell, extending battery life even longer. I always keep a spare with me just in case, but seldom need to add the new one. I love these little guys! Very good price.

It’s work perfectly for me.
I have had this airiator for over 1 year and it has done it’s job very well. I ran with 1 D battery at first to test how long the battery would last and it never died on my, the motor speed did slow down after about 6-7 uses for around 4-5 hours at a time. I now don’t worry about the battery life, because I figured out by installing both D batteries that this little pump will run continues 24 hours for 11 to 12 days. Keep the power box out of the water, because it is not water proof, but mine has been in sand, mud and around all kinds of nasty water and it has absolutely no rust or corrosion on parts inside the power box. I do clean it up after each use, it gets abused, dropped and bounced around hanging on my bait box (old ice chest). I gave this 5 stars, because it’s a good product and has worked great for me. I did buy a second to have when my original one dies. As of this review the second one has never been opened.

Crabs staying feisty!
Runs as advertised. The metal (lead) wire, I’m assuming is a weight for the tube, I guess is only heavy enough to keep the end from leaving the water? The tube’s springiness keeps it from sitting deeper. The crabs seemed fine and well active enough.I like that it can run on either a single D battery OR a pair of them.The bubbler does make a humming noise that can be distracting if indoors and you have it on nearby. Outdoors wasn’t an issue for me.I band it up in its packaging for protective storage in my backpack, keeping the hose from entanglement.

Fish Live Saver
Love this thing. Have one for about 4 years and its whats keeping my pond fish alive in hurricane season. Tried my new Portable Power Station fully charged and only lasted 4 hours with the pump. Did not have the D batteries so used just one cheap AA with some aluminum foil to make contact and worked for 6 hours straight. Kept doing this for the 4 days that had no power. The generator was busy running other things as was too far. They are not water proof so tied them in a plastic bag to keep water out. Got me 3 more to make sure next time they will have extra bubbles and I wont have to worry about them. Highly recommended!

Seems to work well.I have only used it once so far for large Australian salmon, it did keep them alive for awhile, but eventually having they did not have enough oxygen.Would work well for smaller fish

Keeps live bait alive for hours in a 5 gallon bucket. I own 4 of these and use them all the time. I have one thast is 15 years old and has been to the beach and back many times. Still works!!

ProsWorks very well as intended.Inexpensive.Long battery life.Standard sizes so replacement parts are standard fish tank gear.This will provide enough O2 to keep 2 dozen herring alive in a cooler indefinitely.ConsCase in embarassingly cheap and NOT waterproof in any way.Air hose is a little short to use with cooler.Who uses D batteries any more ? With 4AAs, this unit could be half the size it is.
