Instructions of LUCKY HERP UVA UVB Vapor Heat Lamp Bulb
Application
UVB reptile vapor heat lamp should always be positioned in such a way that the reptiles have the opportunity to retreat to cooler sections of the terrarium at any time. There should be a minimum distance of approx. 30 – 40 cm from the reptiles. When this lamp is used for the first time, the reptiles will need to get accustomed to the radiation.
We recommend beginning with 30 minutes of radiation a day and gradually increasing the radiation over a period of 2 ¨C 3 weeks to up to 3 hours a day, depending on the animal species. If required, the spotlight can also be used as all-day lighting (max. 10 hours per day). However, it is imperative that reptiles have suitable areas which they can withdraw to and that overheating of the entire terrarium be avoided. The lamps need approx 5 minutes warm-up time until the full radiation capacity is reached.
Important note on the operating characteristics of the lamp
This is a so-called mixed-light lamp that starts on its own and requires no control gear. When it is switched on or after a power interruption,it takes some time to start and reach its full brightness. An internal thermal switch turns the lamp of in the event of overheating. After it has cooled off , the lamp normally switches on again automatically. In rare cases, the lamp may switch of and not switch on again on its own or just flimmer when you try to switch it on. In that case, switch of the power supply and let the lamp cool of for 10 – 15 minutes. The lamp will then switch on when the power supply is restored.
Warning
*It’s very hot while in using.Do not touch it and keep out of reach of Children. Please control the distance from reptiles.
*Only be installed in a vertical position.
*Never be sprayed with water.
*Do not keep turning on and off the bulb.

Does not last long <3 months.
I really liked this bulb and was very please and I was about to purchase another...then it just quit working. I am very disappointed. Less than 3 months out of it, definitely not worth it.

Great value for the price
The bulb is very functional for the price. I used to buy the Mega-Ray reptile UVB bulb which is about double the price of this one. The Mega-Ray has been tested for quality of UVB emittance and has strong results for putting out healthy and quality levels of UVB light. I had been using that bulb for several years but decided to give this one a try for its price. So far it has been holding up pretty great and it actually seems to put out a lot more light and heat than the Mega-Ray brand. Measuring UVB output is something that requires expensive equipment, so as for the quality and levels of UVB rays that are put out by this bulb, it is hard to know where that stands but they claim to emit 200uW/cm² on the coated one and UVB 1000uW/cm² on the clear bulb.

Not worth it
Didnât even have the bulb in the same brand Lucky Herp lamp for more than 5 minutes and it burned out. Tried different outlets just to take the bulb out to try a different bulb thinking it was the lamp, only to see the burnt bulb. I wouldnât recommend to anyone. Value is not worth the money with this faulty performance.

Happy so far
I’m very pleased with this bulb. It’s giving a temperature that seems right compared to my 70 watt. It screws in smoother then my old mercury vapor. The color of lighting is good. You can’t adjust these bulbs with a plug as far as I know. It’s been a couple weeks and still working. No rattles in it. Packaging kept it good and it wasn’t overbearing. My bearded dragon seems to like it. Very happy with purchase so far. My old bulbs lasted 4 years but we’re like 55$ and they rattled shortly after and didn’t screw in smooth. 70 watt merc vapor. See how long this one lasts. Very satisfied so far.

Bulb burned out after 1 week!!!
Update: I have changed my review and while I still would advise caution when buying this bulb, the sellers were very helpful and reached out to me personally after I said below that couldn’t find a way to get a refund. They processed my refund immediately, so they have my gratitude for that. Thank you very, very much.Do NOT waste your money on this bulb! After only ONE week of use, it burned out and now my reptile is without heat thanks to this garbage bulb! I have no way to get a refund either because it’s now outside of the return window. Very, VERY angry with this product! ð¡ð¡ð¡

Better than the expensive brand
I was buying a light bulb thats almost $90 and name brand but I kept having SO many issues. Having to constantly exchange it because the bulbs were all duds or wouldn’t work past a few weeks. This cheaper one has not let me down yet. It lasted around 6 months and the price is fantastic.

Not delivered in secure cushioned package.
Aquatic turtle sunning & basking light.Arrived unprotected, in a paper/envelope style packaging. Though it was placed upright at front door. I was suspicious of it’s condition. Upon applying it to my hood reflector over my turtle habitat. It flutters when turning on. Blinks off but comes back on. And will stay on. No other reptile bulb I’ve had did that. I worried about premature failure.
