Instructions of LUCKY HERP UVA UVB Vapor Heat Lamp Bulb

Application
UVB reptile vapor heat lamp should always be positioned in such a way that the reptiles have the opportunity to retreat to cooler sections of the terrarium at any time. There should be a minimum distance of approx. 30 – 40 cm from the reptiles. When this lamp is used for the first time, the reptiles will need to get accustomed to the radiation.
We recommend beginning with 30 minutes of radiation a day and gradually increasing the radiation over a period of 2 – 3 weeks to up to 3 hours a day, depending on the animal species. If required, the spotlight can also be used as all-day lighting (max. 10 hours per day). However, it is imperative that reptiles have suitable areas which they can withdraw to and that overheating of the entire terrarium be avoided. The lamps need approx 5 minutes warm-up time until the full radiation capacity is reached.

Important note on the operating characteristics of the lamp
This is a so-called mixed-light lamp that starts on its own and requires no control gear. When it is switched on or after a power interruption,it takes some time to start and reach its full brightness. An internal thermal switch turns the lamp of in the event of overheating. After it has cooled off , the lamp normally switches on again automatically. In rare cases, the lamp may switch of and not switch on again on its own or just flimmer when you try to switch it on. In that case, switch of the power supply and let the lamp cool of for 10 – 15 minutes. The lamp will then switch on when the power supply is restored.

Warning
*It’s very hot while in using.Do not touch it and keep out of reach of Children. Please control the distance from reptiles.
*Only be installed in a vertical position.
*Never be sprayed with water.
*Do not keep turning on and off the bulb.

Customers say

Customers find the light bulb to be of good quality, with positive feedback about its heat output, color accuracy, and suitability for lizards. The UV output and lifespan receive mixed reviews – while some report great UVA and UVB output, others find it weak, and while some bulbs last many months, others burn out within weeks. The value for money and sturdiness also get mixed reactions, with some considering it good value while others find it expensive, and one customer noting issues with the aluminum shade being bent.

    THIS BULB IS AMAZING
I was hesitant to order after reading some of the reviews about it not lasting very long. I have purchased three of these bulbs so far and they are wonderful. Now I have had times when if I bump them, they would cut out and not turn back on but I unplug and let them rest and cool off. They have run for hours and hours at a time. I use them for bleaching t-shirts when I have no sun. Two nights ago, I was bleaching a t-shirt and had the blubs hanging from the shower rod in the spare bathroom (I bleach there because there is a window to open and an exhaust fan). I had sprayed shirt with bleach and adjusted the lights where they needed to be turned around to leave and one of the work light clamps slipped off of the shower Curtin rod and the light dropped straight to the floor. I just knew it would be busted. The aluminum shade was bent, and the bulb was loose in the socket. I put it in the sink to cool off and when I came back to remove the bulb, I was so upset with myself that I hadn’t checked to make sure that it was on the rod tightly, I thought let’s see if it still works. I screwed the bulb back in and plugged it in and LET THERE BE LIGHT. I was so happy that it works and very impressed that it took a hard hit like that and survived. This is the brand I will always order.

    Great bulb
I’ve had this bulb for almost a year no issues. It’s been plugged in on a timer for my turtle and is on 10hrs a day. About to replace because adventually the UV depletes. I check this with a UV card detector. Highly recommend this bulb.

Bulbs When you shut the bulbs off, they don’t turn back on.
I was first excited about these they work wonderfully. But then when I turned them off, they will not turn back on. I tried to ask for a refund and they want the package in the original box. I don’t have that anymore. It’s more of a hassle for me to have to drive down to a location to return it so I’ll just eat the money thanks.

    Great after burn in!
I thought I needed 2 of these to keep things warm enough, but only needed 1. The first one burned out in about a week, and the return was fast and easy. I used the second one in the meantime, make sure that one lasted the month, then swapped to the replacement, which lasted the 6 month lifetime. My recommendation is to keep the old bulbs just in case the new ones suffer from infant mortality as a backup so you have something available while things are shipped back and forth.Otherwise, the lamps have great UV and heat and work perfectly for our bearded dragon.

    Impressive UV output!
Zilla got an upgrade to his lighting, and he couldn’t be happier!Knowing how finicky these types of bulbs can be, I opted for a less expensive brand, and so far it’s worked quite well. It’s been in regular use for several weeks with no issues. (I’m scaling up the daily exposure to acclimate Zilla, so it’s not running full light cycles yet.) It puts out a lot of UV light, so make sure it’s at a safe distance for your reptile.I’ll update this review once I know how long the bulb lasts.

    Beardie is happy
Rocky was tired and lethargic. I realized he needed a new lamp because it’s been almost a year with this one. Within 10 hours he’s zooming around the tank hunting crickets with a vengeance and make-up for lost time attitude.
