Best shampoo for iron water I’ve found.
After moving somewhere with very hard (and specifically iron filled) water a few years ago, my hair really began to suffer. It started breaking off like crazy, wouldn’t (or couldn’t) grow fast enough to make up for it, and anywhere my hair was color treated, the dye washed out and was replaced with a nasty bright orange color.I tried everything. Seriously, everything. The Malibu Hard Water kit did absolutely nothing for me, all it did was dry out my hair without actually removing what I needed it to. The filter I put on my showerhead wasn’t able to block enough of the iron in the water to make a noticeable difference, no matter what brand I tried. There are only TWO products that have helped with the iron in my hair, and this is one of them.I’ve been using this shampoo for a few months now (I use it about once a week to try to make it last longer since it’s so expensive, but I also only wash my hair twice a week, so every other time) and I’ve noticed a difference in the quality of my hair. While it’s still more prone to breakage than it was before I moved here, it’s softer and I don’t have to clean my hairbrush as often. The most noticeable difference is that the bright orange iron deposits in my hair are gone now – it’s just a faded, normal blonde color.I don’t think my hair will ever get back to how it was as long as I’m using this water, but using this shampoo makes it bearable and I no longer feel like I’m under threat of losing literally all of my hair. If you’re having issues with iron or other metals in your water affecting your hair, this is the shampoo you want. And if you’re really desperate and need extra help, there’s one more product that I’ve found to actually work among the many I’ve tried: Color Wow Dream Filter Pre Shampoo Mineral Remover.You spray it on your dry hair and wait a few minutes before getting into the shower and rinsing it off, but I usually leave it on for 10-15 minutes. Then you shampoo and condition like usual. This was the only product that worked for me at all before using this shampoo – it made my hair softer and noticeably less orange. The shampoo has been working so well that I haven’t bothered to buy more of it and try the two of them together, but if you’re in a serious situation with your hair and need help, get both of these products. They’re the only ones that have worked for me out of everything advertised for it.(And as a side note, I always chose to purchase the Dream Filter Mineral Remover from Sephora to make sure that I was getting a genuine product. I buy a lot of things from Amazon, but if I read the reviews and get the hint that there might be illegitimate copies mixed into the product supply, I find it somewhere else. I bought the shampoo here because I didn’t see anything to indicate that was the case, but you might want to go to Sephora for the other just to be safe. It’s usually expensive beauty products that they do this with.)

Great at home treatment
This is a great at home product. The video is before using it. Its dry, knotted, ratty and overall unhealthy. It did not feel nice and she struggled to brush it without tears. It does not have an unpleasant smell. It has a very nice foaming/sudsiness to it. It did not lighten her hair too much as it did not completely lift all the minerals. Nothing beats a Malibu with heat treatment at a salon. It strips the minerals while pushing moisture and nourishment back in. She is due for one but life is busy so this is second best at home solution. Her hair felt nice and soft after, easily brushed with fingers or brush. No knots, I apologize I wanted to do a second video to show how light and flowy it was after but you can only upload one. The picture is the after. If you have very dry hair, I don’t recommend using this product more than once a month as it will damage your hair, making it more dry and brittle. However once a month is great and gives your hair a little help with the hard water build up. I also wouldn’t use on newly dyed hair as it will strip that out. (I spoke to my hair dresser about that) over all it is a great product and her hair feels nice and soft and so much healthier. Hope this helps.

Bad packaging
Love this product and is the only one that saves my hair, but I’m disappointed in Amazon’s fulfillment of this order. This bottle is too expensive to show up dented and dirty and it’s a pain to return it when I don’t live anywhere near a drop off area.

Pricey but worth it
Yes it’s pricey but it WORKS. I’ve lived with hard water/iron water for my entire life. At 57, my hair is now fine pattern. Menopause and hard water have destroyed my natural wavy pattern. Once I realized it was causing irritation to my scalp, I knew I needed a solution. The chelation this shampoo provides is immediate. I can smell the minerals rinsing from my hair. My scalp is much less irritated. A little bit of Metal Detox is all you need. I use it every time I wash my hair, every two days. I do pair it with the conditioner on ends only, and I can confirm it definitely protects my natural blonde-silver color. I don’t need purple shampoo to tone the discoloration anymore.

With really hard water in Germany, this one has helped my hair so much!

I order it to remove some hair color changed, caused from hair band. Job was done after 2 heavy repeats of washing. In 2 days.So i can say it did job.
