My rats have officially moved in and declared this Lixit Igloo their forever home. Honestly, Iâm just the landlord now.From the moment I set it in the cage, it was love at first sight. Itâs cozy, private, and apparently the perfect spot for a mid-morning nap, a post-lunch nap, a pre-dinner nap… you get the idea. My rats spend so much time in there, Iâm thinking of charging rent.Itâs lightweight, easy to clean, and durable enough to survive dramatic rat rearranging sessions. Plus, it looks adorable in their setup â like a tiny VIP lounge for the world’s cutest little loaf.If your small pet needs a cozy hideout where they can live their best napping life, this is THE spot. 10/10 from me and 100/10 from my rats.

Works With Kaytee
These hides are great and easy to assemble, they work and fit with Kaytee cages to create awesome enclosures. Not noisy when the critters run through, and are easy to keep clean so they don’t smell. Safety clips together to not injure any critters, and they hold up solidly. Price is good, but you really can’t find them anywhere else.

The best rat bed ever
My three boys just canât get enough of this space pod! One of my boys will literally never sleep anywhere else, heâs obsessed with it! The large space pod is what I got, and it is big enough for my three boys to sit in but they do seem a little uncomfortable and donât all go in there very often. One or two of my boys fit very comfortably though! They love to snuggle in there. It is super easy to assemble, took me only a second to get it put together and attached to the cage. It is very easy to clean in the same respect. It seems very sturdy to me, the only problem is the clips that hold it onto the cage do have some wearing on them after awhile of my boys using it. But the awesome thing about this product is if those clips break i can still use the space pod by simply moving it to sitting on the ground of their cage instead of hanging! All in all, my boys love this item more than I ever Anticipated!

Pods Rule! I couldn’t imagine being without them!
I love pods and so do my pet rats! Every rat owner that I know, who has one, has happy rats who like to see how many can squeeze into it. For full sized rats THIS IS NOT THE SIZE TO BUY! I have the large ones for them. I have this size for my dwarf rats only. You want this for smaller rodents, such as hamsters, gerbils, mice and such. Mine love it hanging from the top of the cage but the aforementioned pocket pets usually prefer it on the bottom, like in the photo from Amazon. Be sure to clean regularly as some pets like to pee in it. If they do, wipe it out with a damp cloth or paper towels and dry daily and take out and scrub weekly, at least. If you use it on the floor of the cage and your pet puts bedding in it, be sure they are not peeing and/or pooping in it. If they are, you should dump the bedding daily or AT LEAST every other day. If you don’t know this NEVER use pine or cedar shavings as they contain phenols which are toxic, especially for rats, they will, over time, cause lung scarring and respiratory problems and other organs will be affected too. If you insist on using shavings kiln dried Aspen is the only kind that does not contain phenols. Though I would still recommend putting a soft bedding on top of them. Imagine yourself sleeping on wood shavings. Plus the dust from them can get in tiny eyes and be uncomfortable and scratch them. Use a natural unscented bedding ( corncob bedding is dangerous too ). Just a bit of education with my review! These pods are awesome! Wouldn’t be without them for my fur babies.Side note : I have one hanging in my mice cage and will find 7 females in a mouse pile in it! Absolutely adorable!

Good little hiding spot for a single rat
Not strong enough when sitting on the ground is a dome for two racks to sit in without the bottom falling out but itâs fine for one rat. Iâm glad that itâs not something that they can tear apart and itâs easy to clean and my fattest route seems to really enjoy it right now, but all my rats are kind of fat so again not a multiple rap thing but as a single rat little thing very cool. I have not tried hanging it from the top because they have enough hanging from the top and they needed something on the bottom.

Can’t Live Without Our Space Pods!
We could not function without our Space Pods! This is a staple in my rat cage. My boys frequently choose their space pods over hammocks for sleeping, cuddling, or just hanging out. The Lixit Space Pods are made so well too! They last forever. I’m still using two Space Pods from my previous girls group and then bought two new ones to add even more sleeping and hiding spots to the boy’s cage. I also love that you can either put them on he floor or hang them upside down from the top of the cage. I don’t completely trust the hanging feet though, so I actually put metal hanging hooks through the holes in the feet in order to hang my Space Pods from the top of the cage. That makes them very secure and able to hold the weight of all my boys when they decide to all get in there at once. I also love how easy they are to clean. Simply wipe them down with a wet cloth or baby wipes and they’re good as new. My only request for the company is that they start making these in an Extra Large size. The Lixit Space Pod Large IS the largest of all the sputnik type space pods, but when you’ve got 4 big boys like I do, it would be awesome to have a bigger one. I also wish they came in different colors. Some of the other companies offer different colors, but they’re smaller than the Lixit one is, so I never order those. I’d love to have a choice of colors.

Our ratties have several types of hideouts in their cage, but these are by far their favorites. They look so cute all piled on top of each other snoozing with their heads hanging out the openings.

Supertoll. Eine meiner 3 Rattenmädels saà im Käfig immer allein an der gleichen Stelle. Seit ich das Teil habe (gestern nachmittag eingebaut) macht sie sich’s auch dort hin und wieder gemütlich, sogar gemeinsam mit den anderen beiden. Bin total begeistert und scheint, dass meine Rattis das auch sind . .was ja schliesslich die Hauptsache ist. Absolute Kaufempfehlung.

I bought this item because it was highly recommended on various rat-care sites, and I was not disappointed! The solid plastic is strong and chew-proof. It attaches easily to the top of the cage to provide a cozy hanging hide-away, and is super easy to remove for cleaning. Alternatively, it can stand on the ground though I haven’t used it that way yet. The plastic is washable and cleans up well. The large pod easily holds 3 young rats (3-6 months old) and will probably comfortably sleep 2 adults. It took about a day for my rats to really warm up to it but since then it has been the choice sleeping spot in the cage.

My rats love this thing! They spend 90% of their time curled up in it together or hanging their heads over the sides. Best thing I ever bought for them and so much better than the fabric hammocks I kept buying for them that they would wreck by chewing the ropes holding it up! They try to nibble on this but the plastic is hard enough that they barely make a dent. Definitely a worthwhile product for anyone with rats or other small pets. I bought the large and it perfectly fits my 2 chubby male rats. Thanks for the great product!
