Amazing product and price
Alot more than you expect and amazing pricing it holds tons of moisture so it helps with drainage. Gives nutrients in your substrate mixes and will improve overall plant health as it prevents root rot in your soil. It does have little sticks so it ain’t too clean on arrival.

Great moss for plants
Great, huge amounts of moss in a tiny tiny package. My plants are very happy

There’s more than meets the eye in a good way
Once you soak the Moss, it expands quite a bit and it filled up two of my Moss poles and I still have some left over. It’s worth the money.

Good, but not great
Usable but not high quality. Lots of leaf and branch debris blended in

Top quality, long fiber spagnum moss
This is my 2nd purchase of the 1.2lb bag of moss and I’m still impressed with the quality. I have many large plants moss polls and this spagnum moss is nice long fiber, very, very little twig and no litter debris at all. I very lightly moisten it to store in my plastic bin, just enough to break it up and fluff it. I have not found any fungus gnats in this moss like i have in others. There’s nice smaller pieces that are already green, which is great to help with when I grow my moss for me nepenthes picture plants. I’m happy to find this moss at a great price, but especially an excellent quality. I highly recommend

More Compressed than I thought.
Purchased the 3.3 lb block. As far as sphagnum goes, I’ve purchased a brand that came in a 1.2 lb block. One that came in a 2.2 lb block, same brand as this, as well as this; 3.3 lb block. The original block, different brand, was excellent. Long fibers, low bits and pieces good color and fluffy.Of this brand the 2.2 lb bale came in a 15-in (ish) by 15 in (ish) by 6-8″ block. This bale, containing 10 or so more quarts and another lb of sphagnum is actually compressed to less than half of the size of that. The block itself was probably 8x8x10 or something, going off memory. The benefit to the 2.2 lb block, it wasn’t overly compressed so it was easy to pull moss off in sheets About a quarter of that block would do three to four of the moss poles I do. When naturally decompressed, it would fluff easily and remain in Long fibers. It DID have quite a lot of the smaller bits, many more than previous. I just use those in my mixes that need high water retention. It had a good smell but did have several sticks and pieces of plastic twine. I would recommend it.At time of writing originally, I had not broken into this one yet, but since editing, but it appears VERY compressed. It’s not necessarily true the first block I bought was fairly compressed as well, not as compressed as this but it was more compressed in the previous block, and that block actually had less of the little bits and the broken strands then the block of this brand, That was less compacted. All in all, the fibers were all average at least three plus inches, so I think it worked out. It does compress a bit more than the previous batch. I don’t like to use the little bits as they will come out through the holes in the moss pole, so I tend to kind of wad them in with the longer strands and stuff then in the middle, or again, use in soil.I’ve actually used all the block now, and am getting more. When allowed to expand, there is physically more sphagnum there, but it’s not as fluffy, and it has more fines and broken stuff. I’m torn. I don’t know if the increase makes up for it, and since the stuff is a bit finer., It’ll compact a bit more, and is easier to over pack the poles, but not a lot, so in the end you really still only get a bit more. I have started adding bark to my moss poles to add something hard for roots to wrap into and onto, that takes up space and helps airate. Now I see they have a 4.4 lb block. I’m worried it’s just as compressed. When you over compress this stuff you lose volume. It gets smaller and packs more.

Great! But moldy
This moss is really great for orchids and propagation. Expands quickly and holds moisture well. My one issue is that this particular brand of sphagnum moss grows white mold so much easier and faster than any other kind Iâve used. Harmless stuff but a bit annoying. Regardless, I will probably purchase again in the future. Itâs a good amount for the price.

Pretty good product especially for the price, a bit loose fibers. I’ve seen some super compact versions but it is decent. It definitely has a fair bit of other natural debris like broken grass stems but it doesn’t affect the actual product overall. Would buy again when I need more. As a note, it did have a bit of a smell as I don’t recall another brand I bought locally having that strong of a smell but I rinsed it and it appears fine. Using for orchids, in my aroid mix and moss poles.

Huge block, good quality. Little hard to separate it’s so compact but that’s to be expected. Would definitely buy from them again
