More durable than cardboard scratchers
This Cat Scratcher is a little different and very cool. Most L-shaped scratchers have corrugated cardboard inside for the scratch material but this one uses a felt material. I have several cats so my cardboard cat scratchers get a lot of use and seem to wear out quickly, and they leave shreds of cardboard on the floor.I ordered this felt scratcher because I think it will last a lot longer than the cardboard scratchers. My cats have been using it for a few weeks and it still looks almost new. Some still prefer the cardboard. Most cat parents, I think, understand that each cat can be a little different and not all will like the same toys.This cat scratcher did take about thirty minutes to assemble, but it was time well spent. It takes a little longer than the usual cat scratchers because you have to insert the edges of the felt scratch pad into the frame and then secure them. Everything lined up well and all the screws went in correctly.I did not notice any bad odor or smells from any of the materials, which is good for my cats. This scratcher may cost a little more than the cardboard ones, but I think it will last longer and therefore will be a good value.

Decent cat scratcher, 30 mins to assemble
So this wasnât easy to put together, but it wasnât hard either. It is just unnecessary to have so many pieces and parts. It is good looking and works nicely in my living room.It took about 30 minutes to assemble. It comes with 7 parts, plus 8 or so screws an allen wrench, and two toys. I wish it came with regular screws so I could use my electric screwdriver – would be so much easier than those allen wrenches.The look of this is nice and itâs tall enough where I can lean it against a chair and save that chair from being scratched up.It comes with a cute little ball for cats to bat around, plus a cute mouse to hang from the top. One downsize is that this is not a free standing at scratcher. It must be leaning against a wall to be stabilized, as opposed to some other Iâve seen that can stand alone without support.My cats do like this and scratch their nails on it so thatâs a win. Overall itâs a decent product but could be improved. I still recommend it.

Popular With Cats and Easy Assembly
This tall cat scratcher toy arrives unassembled. It took me about 30 minutes to put it together. It came with fairly easy to understand instructions and all parts were included in all pre-drilled holes aligned as they should. One needs to pay attention to assemble one side of the frame, and insert the felt into the slots, then insert the felt into slots of the opposite brace before screwing that opposite side frame to the cross supports. Iâve included photos that I hope will be helpful.The frame is constructed of MDF board with wood veneer and the scratching surface is a thick heavy duty felt-like material. Because it is made of MDF, I was very cautious not to over tighten the screws. Nonetheless one of the screws I think did seem to strip out as it never would become finger tight. It just continued to spin. Nonetheless, this did not affect the integrity of the structure because it was one of the screws holding the brace for the jingle ball. If in the future, itâs a problem I will just add some glue and a toothpick to the hole and reinsert the wood screw.My cats were curious as I was assembling it, and as soon as I finished, they were checking it out.To help pique their interest, I sprinkled catnip on it and rubbed it in. Immediately three cats were interested with the youngest one going bananas playing with the ball toys. Iâve included video of the cats initial response. After finishing the video, another cat came over and has spent probably three minutes, scratching on the base and up along the tall portion of the board.Overall, this is a hit with my cats. I particularly like tall cat scratching posts because they give my cats a chance to get a good stretch. Also, the tall scratching posts and boards I have around the house are always the catsâ favorites.

This is such a cute enrichment toy for our cats
Got this cat scratcher to attempt to divert our cats’ attention away from my guitar case and give them something to scratch on to their little hearts’ content. So far, it’s worked very well to keep the cats away from my guitar! The instructions were very easy to follow, it comes with all the parts and pieces needed to properly assemble it, and it’s very lightweight to move around the house. It’s perfect for kitty claws. The felt backing is very sturdy, and the cats seem to love the texture on their little peets. There’s a little ball on a string that attaches to the top of the L-shape, and there’s a little ball with a bell in it for them to swat – it slides back and forth at the bottom of the L-shape, and it can easily be swapped from L-shape to putting it face-down to make a sort of “ramp” shape. It doesn’t take up a tonne of room, which is excellent for the flat we live in, so no worries of tripping over it in the dark. I love the green colour on the felting, and it’s lightweight enough to easily store away when vacuuming or sweeping floors and then just put it back for the cats to get to when floor chores are all done. The wood frame is nice and sturdy, and the felting fits into the “arms” of the frame nice and snug like a puzzle.
