Customers say
Customers find the cat litter lightweight and appreciate its quality, with one noting it’s better than clay alternatives. The odor control receives mixed feedback, with some reporting zero smell while others mention it’s very dusty. The clumping ability and effectiveness also get mixed reviews, with some saying it clumps like regular litter while others report it doesn’t work well. The litter’s stickiness is a concern as it doesn’t stick to cats, and customers report it tracks all over the house. Value for money opinions are divided between those who find it reasonably priced and those who consider it expensive.

Super lightweight, slight smokey wood scent, good clumping, great odor control.
Update: odor control is amazing! Iâve been trying a few different wood based litter and this one by far out performs the rest. My housemates rarely even notice when my cat uses this litter. Keeping the litter box in my bedroom I have notice I will sleep through the use of this litter vs when other boxes are used. This is my new preferred litter!!These pellets are super lightweight, it was shocking, most wood pellets Iâve tried are quite heavy. Work great with cats who have trouble with the heavier wood pellets.I mix wood pellets for scent control with tofu pellets and I love how well these clump and hold together. These are a little dusty once they break down, but fine if scooped soon after clumping. Some reviews mention lack of odor control, but I found these to be better than other wood pellets Iâve tried. Mind you they donât work great if your cat doesnât bury their business.

Make sure you read carefully, unlike me
It is my fault for not reading carefully but I thought I was buying 14 lbs of pellets for this price. You can buy many other wood pellets of similar quality for a better value. It is only 3.4 lbs and the same quality of other wood pellets that again are much better value.I only got these to try and transition my kitten to the breeze litter system. He was using clay litter and not taking to the breeze. So right these pellets are a similar color and shape of the breeze pellets so maybe he’ll eventually start using the 4 other breeze systems he’s refusing to use.So point being, I won’t be buying these again. Not enough of a value to make it wortg it.They didn’t have a chemical smell, so that’s a positive. They aren’t good with odor control though. Kitten went this morning and could smell it two rooms away. Yes there’s no dust because it’s not clay. I can’t comment on cleaning yet. I’ll update review if it’s yucky.

Excellent product, natural scent, solid clumping, easy disposing
I received an orphaned young kitten and created his first litter box by purchasing a stainless steel one off Amazon. I am so glad I chose HINOKI wood cat litter for my first litter box. My kitten was so young, I wasnât sure how much training he got in the wild, however, he has never had an accident outside the box. Iâm glad the product uses terpenes and terpenoids as a natural way to prevent odors. Itâs easily clumping. It is everything I expected from a cat litter although I have nothing else to compare it to. I scoop his box daily and dispose of the clumps using my storage of recycled cottage cheese, Hummus , or small Amazon delivery bags. We are on a second bag. Great product if you hate the artificial fragrances in everything these days and worry about creating unpleasant litter box odors to contend with.

Great, just not for automatic litter box
Definitely recommend! Clumps well. Light and not heavy to handle. Low dust. Smells woody and earthy and basically neutralizes bad smells. One issue is I think itâs not working well with my automatic cat litter box.

Not the best
I bought this as a test, after using tofu litter and being really pleased. First off, it is lightweight. Easy to manage for someone with RA. I thought the cypress smell was going to be a little stronger, so I was disappointed in that, and I was disappointed that it really did not clump well, at all. My cats didn’t mind it, but when they urinated, the pellets turned to muck. Not so easy to scoop and it stuck to the side of the pan. Also, it does track a lot more than tofu litters. Odor control was also not as effective.

Low dust, sticky clumps
I love the smell of hinoki, so I was very excited to find this product.Aesthetic: it is a lightweight, beautifully colored product with little dust.Trackability: It doesn’t track as much as clay litter, but tracks much more than the pine pellets.Odor absorption: It doesn’t absorb odors as well as pine pellets. It is not fragrant like hinoki.Clumping/ scoop ability: The litter turns into sticky goo when wet, which is sometimes OK for scooping, but will also sometimes stick to my cat’s paws (never an issue with clay or pine nuggets).Longevity: one bag lasted my 13-lb cat 1.5 weeks.Value: it is more expensive than other litters.Overall, I think it is a better product than clay litter, but I prefer pine nuggets more.
