Metal, not wood…and wide enough for larger cakes
I kept getting suet feeders that were made of wood and they just did not stand up for more than a month or two before they fell apart where they were stapled and/or tacked. I saw this feeder that is all metal and so I thought I’d try it. It is perfect! Not only does it not fall apart when my squirrels insist upon pulling it down, but the slots for the suet are big enough to easily hold the larger cakes of suet and are easily refilled. Also, the birds seem to love it and can easily perch while feeding. It worked out so well that I bought another one to replace my second suet feeder. The squirrels still try to get to it and end up pulling it down, but the feeder is well made and the fall to the ground does not affect it.

Solid, Ease of Refilling, Easy to Raid!
I really appreciated the solid design and ease of use, but raccoons and ‘possums are able to get into it and empty it out regularly. The cost of replacing the suet cakes each morning is deterring me from further use. Any suggestions from the manufacturer or from fellow birders?

Well made and convenient
Now with the weather cooling itâs time for suet. This double feeder is super convenient for the birds so they donât have to wait in line. I have to hang it way down from hanger to keep away from squirrels. This feeder is heavier than the green one and well made.

Handy and easy to use . . the birds love it
I’ve had this for a short time and the birds love it. Little bushtits come by in a large flock and about ten of those tiny birds can cluster on the feeder and enjoy the suet . . . The chickadees are always the first to check out a feeder. They make sure it’s safe and then all the other birds follow. I’ve also had Hairy Woodpeckers, Flickers, Stellar Jays, Scrub Jays and several little birds check it out and get some suet. There are two slots for suet and the birds can also cling to the bottom and get their snack. The feeder is easy to hang and I have it hanging from a coffee hook that’s on the soffit of my house.

First time ordering these (ordered 1 black, 1 red) the chimney adds a nice touch to them. loaded both with 2 suet packs each where the black one was easy to put the roof & hanger on but the red one gave me attitude, I had to widen the openings on the roof for the hanger to attach securely, works great now and I’m sure the birdies will be pleased.
