Whatâs not (for a bird) to love?
While not packaged as shown in the listing – outside sticker label with clear interior bag instead – my birds love these peanuts! They are fresh (with an expiration date more than 12 months away), crispy and smell like a fresh jar of peanut butter. The âpeanut piecesâ are simply halved nut meats, no tiny pieces or dust here. Itâs a full 11 pound bag (think 12x18x4 inches) so plan on having an appropriate place to store them in between feeder fills; my place of choice is sealed with a binder clip and placed in the bottom of a dark pantry. The cost per pound makes this a great buy when compared to the smaller bags available at my supermarket. A great value on a birdâs favorite!

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I bought this particular brand of shelled peanuts because it  is a little cheaper than others I bought. Also, I’m familiar with Kaytee products. Peanuts are fresh. Size of peanuts are uniform, with a few smaller pieces, which is good.  BUT the bag is full of the skins, whereas other brands are 100% clean. Of all that I tried, these are the messiest and those reddish skins stained my concrete. Besides mixing these with seed in my feeders, I toss them to birds and squirrels in front of my house. Seriously, the skins blow around and collect, and if I don’t remove them same day, they stain the concrete. Is it necessary to leave so much of the skins in the bag? I would give 5 stars if not for the skins.Â

Not Cheap, but best price I’ve found
I bought the 11-pound bag, and for the quality and quantity, these are the best value I’ve seen. My previous bran was $7 more and 1 pound less. The Kaytee brand, while not greasy, does have a sheen and subtle oil residue that tells me they are quite fresh. There is never a rancid oil smell to them, just a pure peanutty scent. They are not large peanuts, but the size seems to work well for smaller birds, and my squirrels (who these are mostly purchased for) and Jays don’t seem to mind the smaller size at all. Some of the peanuts have red skins, but most are peeled bare. I have about 9 squirrels who visit me a few times each day, and I get much pleasure watching them eat and providing them with a bowl of water. They make my day. And the many varieties of birds who share these snacks are a pleasure to have around, too.

New 11-Pound Bag Superior To 10-Pound Bag . . . .
This new 11-pound bag of Kaytee shelled peanuts is packaged much differently than the old 10-pound bag. It’s in a clear plastic bag packed in a box sealed with a Kaytee label, that shows all the needed info on the product. That is good, since I kept getting rancid 10-pound bags, requesting refunds, and then stopped ordering altogether. Amazon stopped selling the 10-pound bags shortly thereafter, too.When the 11-pound bag appeared here, I waited until there was a Prime Days sale to order. The peanuts came in less than 24 hours and are very fresh and nutty smelling. There were no pulverized skins filling the bag, either, causing that extensive brown dust found in the 10-pound bags, that can clog tube feeders and make a mess in platform feeders. My birds will be most happy to get these nuts every day. There is nothing they like better than shelled peanuts, except maybe oil sunflower seed.P.S. 9/10/25: I’ve bought more 11-pound bags of these nuts and all peanuts have been very fresh. There has been the pulverized skins in them, however, but different brands with no skins cost so much more, so I will stick with these nuts. The birds and squirrels can’t get enough of them.

Comes fast and the wildlife love them
These work great for my all my wildlife friends that visit everyday. My local stores couldn’t keep up with how many peanuts I buy on a weekly basis but these stay in stock and come fast! So definitely content with them
