This is the perfect hamster water bottle and at $5.69 it’s a great price with Prime shipping. This is the cheapest price I found online!~Remember the bottle will not stop dripping while you hold it because your hand actually puts a slight pressure on the bottle…it doesn’t usually stop dripping until you hang it on a cage or carrier.~BE SURE THE METAL SPRING ATTACHMENT (HANGS WATER BOTTLE ON CAGE) ISN’T TOO TIGHT OR SQUEEZING THE WATER BOTTLE MAKING IT DRIP!~The first little drips are the first release of water created as your water bottle forms a new vacuum seal (when the air space and water volume equalize). This little release of water is the after effect of this equalization as the pressure stabilizes, and it is perfectly normal & not a sign of a leaking water bottle.~To help establish the vacuum seal when the water bottle is first filled and mounted, tap the ball bearing several times with your fingertip to speed up the equalization of the vacuum pressure.IF YOUR WATER BOTTLE HAS A CONTINUOUS LEAK/DRIPS TRY THESE TIPS:1)Check inside the cap of your bottle, and you should see a rubber gasket inside the cap. If the gasket is missing or damaged, your bottle will continuously drip.2)Fill the water bottle completely full with water. A bottle filled halfway will take longer to create a vacuum and will drip more.3)Once you have filled the bottle, tighten the cap securely, tap the ball bearing at the sink a few times, hang it on the cage/crate, and tap the ball bearing a few more times. Your water bottle should stop dripping within a few minutes. The smaller the bottle, the quicker the dripping will stop.4)Hold the bottle so that the tube is facing up, squeeze the bottle until you force a small amount of water out, then turn it over and hang it on the cage/crate. (Think of it like a doctor clearing a syringe of air before giving you a shot.) The 32 oz and 64 oz bottles will take longer to form a vacuum than the 8 and 16 oz bottles.5)Keep the water bottle out of direct sunlight and from warming too much because this will make the water leak as well.6)If the animal continually shakes the cage, this can shake the water bottle which will leak as well. You can put a little drip protector underneath to catch the water.

I LOVE IT!!! the price is good for what it is. but it leaks a tiny bit which made it lose a star. but overall it’s amazing my guinea pigs love it!!

Works okay but could easily be made a little better
Bought this to replace the small 8oz bottle we got with our rabbit cage. The larger size is a great improvement, and we love the spring retention band with the clips compared to the simple piece of stiff hooked wire on the old bottle.But there are a couple of annoying shortcomings:* Don’t like the angle on the “spout.” It’s too wide or obtuse. If you hold the bottle flat against the outside of the cage, the end of the spout doesn’t really reach inside the cage — it’s almost even with the side of the bottle! You have to insert the spout first and lever the bottle’s top end which collapses the plastic a bit near the spout (see next complaint), so the bottle doesn’t actually sit flat against the cage — the top end angles away. This could be remedied with a slightly tighter bend in the spout, maybe 5 degrees more? I thought about heating it up and trying to do this myself, but would be afraid the metal would collapse at the bend, or the heat would distort the circumference and cause a leak around the ball or around the cap.* Plastic is very soft, causing it to collapse near the cap end where the cage bars compress it when the spring retainer pulls it tight. Again I think this is caused by the angle of the spout, which hits the cage bar underneath and applies pressure to this point when the retainer is attached. My concern is this crease in the plastic will eventually break through and leak.* Minor gripe with the little yellow floating duck that’s supposed to serve as a water level indicator. It has a disk on the bottom presumably as a ballast to make it float upright, but it’s not heavy enough. So ours looks like a dead duck, always floating on its side. Not really a problem, since the actual water line is more visible to me than the duck, but my wife thought it was a cute addition until it wouldn’t float upright. You can remove the duck if you don’t want it.As for those complaining of leakage, all such bottles like this I’ve seen will leak at first. You have to “prime” it after filling to get the vacuum to seal. After filling, hold it over the sink while you tap the ball several times. This releases some water and you’ll see air bubbles rise in the bottle. After several taps it should seal and stop leaking. Problem is, again, due to the soft plastic and the angle of the spout, it’s impossible to install on the cage without squeezing it, which inevitably causes some initial leakage into the cage. Have a napkin handy to catch the water while you re-prime. Once installed and primed, ours has never leaked.

They made this one so good, build quality is sturdy and you can feel the time they spent for this product. Very very worth your time and money. Perfectly durable and finish is just perfect. Would definitely recommend this to my friends or family and probably would buy it again.
