I used it to retrofit a 30+ year old hot tub so I can control the thermostat remotely instead of having to remove the access panel every time I want to turn it down. I needed something with a heat probe, wifi, and an electrical output. This is the only device I could find that does all three. The app is very user friendly and automatically detected that the signal was weak and switched over to manual mode to link to my phone during set up. The cost of this plus the other parts I needed was less than a junky replacement thermostat.

Very affordable temp controller, great use for home brewers
I’ve been brewing ales for 8 years and thought Id like to take a crack at making a lager. The thing is I did not have a fermentation chamber and needed to maintain a constant 53*F temperature. This device coupled with an empty kegerator did the trick. Device works exactly as advertised. The functions are simple, I did not even need to review the instructions to setup my fermentation chamber. I have set the temp to 53*F with a +/- range of 3*F. When the temperature climbs to 56*F, the kegerators compressor kicks on and stays on until the temperature reaches target again. There is also a safety function for delaying the compressor which I have set to 3 minutes to prevent the compressor from switching on and off repeatedly. I can say for the value, I am extremely satisfied with this products performance. Now I hope my lager turns out just as satisfying.

Wonderful Product – Keep Your Tank Safe With Inkbird!
I have owned 3 Inkbird units (one in my large tank, one in my smaller tank, and one in my QT tank). I was originally introduced to Inkbirds by a wonderful blog post by Aquarium Store Depot who talked about creating an aquarium heater system that has multiple fail safes. Their blog post talked about using a controller like an inkbird as the central brain of the whole heating and cooling system. I followed their recommendations to the T with two heaters and a controller. The old models are amazing and very accurate. When I heard about this new wifi model I just had to try it.I put this controller on my new reef tank setup. After I installed it and fired up the app, I was impressed with the fact that this app can monitor ALL tank systems in your home. This is a great feature for those of us who suffer from Multiple Tank Syndrome (MTS). I can now go quickly into the app and see the temperature of the tank. I can access all the settings in the tank if I want to make an adjustment. I can also pull up charts to see if my temperatures swing throughout the day. This was definitely worth upgrading to!My only complaint is the charts. They have a weird naming template so I can’t understand what day it charted, but I love accessing everything on my phone now. The fact that I get mobile alerts if my temperature goes too low or too high is priceless. Heater failure is such a common reason for a livestock wipe out in an aquarium. It’s worth your money to invest in one. I also got a Wyze camera so I’m set with complete monitoring when I’m traveling or away from home. Thank you Inkbird for making another great product. I’m looking forward to upgrading my other tanks so everything can be on the app :).

I should’ve gave it no stars but it worked for a month.
It stopped working! I would have to say is my number one and only dislike and it’s only a couple months old . The WiFi, alarms, keypad, temperature probe, and it still even read me the correct temp through the app . However, the power strip just stopped powering my ac during the hot of day and my heater at night . I honestly didn’t even check to make sure that same day and I assumed the brand new ac unit died on me along with my heater for some weird reason , but low and behold it wasn’t either one of them at all . After I went out and purchased a new heater and ac I plug them in to find out it wasn’t them to start with it was the inkbird controller ! Yea y’all put a hurt on me over this one . Months of work gone ! I would’ve been better off having them plugged in to the plug directly and used the internal thermostats on the heater and ac even tho it would’ve had major fluctuations, that would’ve been so much better of a problem to deal with instead of the total loss your controller made for me !
