Where should I get my eggs from?
You should get your eggs from a local hatchery/poultry farmer. Fertilized eggs purchased from local hatcheries will yield higher hatch rates compared to online, since online eggs are exposed to temperature fluctuations and shocks during transport.
How long can I store my fertilized eggs?
Prior to incubation, fertilized eggs can be stored for up to 7 days (3 days in summers) in a cool room maintained at constant temperature (55-60 °F/13-16 °C), do not place them in the refrigerator!
What type of eggs can I hatch with the OBI-12 Egg incubator?
The OBI-12 comes with adjustable rotating tubes that can be spaced out to set small and large eggs for chickens (12), ducks, pigeons and other birds.
What’s the average hatch rate?
Do not be discouraged if not all of your eggs hatch!
A normal hatch rate is between 55% and 75% but this can vary due to a wide variety of environmental and biological factors.

Customers say
Customers find the incubator to be a good beginner model that’s easy to set up and offers good value for money. The temperature control receives mixed feedback – while some say it keeps a very even temperature, others report it doesn’t stay at a constant set temperature. The functionality and hatching rate also get mixed reviews, with some reporting it works fantastically while others say it stopped working after two months and never hatched any eggs. The humidity control is particularly problematic, with customers noting it’s almost impossible to maintain. The incubator’s sturdiness receives negative feedback, with several customers reporting broken pieces.

Great small incubator!
Update:It works! This is an excellent incubator at this price. It was my first time hatching, and only one egg stopped developing (several were infertile, no fault of the incubator). I changed the temperature setting to 99.5, kept the humidity between 35 and 50, and raised the humidity to 70 for hatching. The turners work well and are easy to remove for hatching.Make sure to leave the incubator in the Styrofoam for insulation.Only truly annoying thing is the loose wire. Didn’t cause problems but is annoying.Original review:This is my first time hatching eggs, and this machine looks up to the task for a beginner.Good points:~Automatic temperature.~Built in hygrometer. Manual humidity, but you can add water without opening.~Easy to program~Alarm.~Automatic turners.~Designed to allow different egg sizes.~Nice styrofoam insulation.~Candler works! (But sometimes takes a moment to respond to button press)Room for Improvement~I can’t imagine it holds a dozen large breed eggs. Holds a dozen small bantam eggs, though. (Pictured are Silkie and Japanese Bantam eggs.)~Loose wire in the incubator is annoying and can disrupt turning. I taped it to the side.~The default settings was over 100 degrees A little warm for an incubator with a fan.~Humidity can be hard to regulate. I am a little concerned with keeping it high enough for the last few days.Overall seems great for the price! I hope I get a good hatch. It’s my first time, so user error is possible.

Ugh! What am I doing wrong?!
UPDATE: We have Rouen Ducks hatching! ð£So maybe I was too hard on this product with my first review. Now that itâs been on a few hours it seems to have started working normal. I knew it would take awhile to warm but this thing was driving me crazy with the beep alarm. The humidity is a little tricky. I had to start with no water and had it way lower than where I wanted it. (Set to 35 and still had 64 h) I have it now set at 50 to actually keep the desired humidity at 55. That is after I dumped the water out. And then added a little tiny bit. The wire is annoyingly dangling. A few little plastic âclipsâ or hooks on the inside would be nice to keep it up out of the way. Im not sure if the rotation actually works. But supposedly it doesnât rotate âall the timeâ . I guess it basically just does a half turn from what I gather. Not sure how to set a timer for that but Iâm going to mark my eggs and find out. Iâll update if any eggs hatch. Or if itâs a total fail. Starting duck eggs tomorrow morning. Wish me luck.

Please read because this incubator is great!
Listen. When reading the reviews, it seems like this is an iffy buy. But let me tell you this is a great buy! I bought this for my kids and I to hatch some quail. It was the EASIEST set up. It comes with insulated foam for colder days. It even has two easy access dots to add water without opening the lid (which is so important) it has AUTO rotation. And even has a candling light. Itâs perfect for a small amount of eggs. Itâs not a HUGE incubator but it fits a good amount. There are five rollers. They work great. I marked my eggs to ensure they were being rotated. The humidity levels and temperature are almost exact and correct. I have two extra hygrometers in there and they all say the same thing. Which is great! It also has a vent hole. Itâs well established and affordable. Easy to see through the side clear window to check on eggs without opening. It keeps humidity perfectly. I add water about once a day.Anyways. Listen, if youâre just experimenting and donât have a ton of money and just want to do a few eggs this is perfect for you. I have seven in mine right now. Buy it!

Never hatched an egg.
It claims to be for chicken and duck eggs. I have used it on duck eggs with no avail. It never hatched an egg. It would bring them about halfway there and they would quit. I was adamant about keeping them from turning beyond the date and yet it never hatched. I would not recommend this product. It also asked to keep humidity at 55% for duck eggs no matter how much you look over it, it’s almost impossible. You would have to check this incubator at least 10 times a day to keep it close to 55 % Yes the eggs we’re fertile. It seems that it could grow them for a couple weeks and then they would die. I would call this a piece of junk. Ease of use. You have to constantly look after it. Value for my money. I would say it’s a rip-off. I think this thermostat works fairly well.

Came damaged.
Huge plastic piece was broke inside which prevents have of the incubator fromUsing the rollers. I bought it so I didnât have to manually rotate but I have to. Other than that, all seems to work. Wonât be returning due to needing the product.

Reliable and User-Friendly
This incubator proved to be a success with a very hatch rate: 9 out of the 12 eggs hatched successfully. The remaining eggs likely weren’t fertilized, which is no fault of the incubator. One of the standout features of the Okköbi OBI-12 is its ease of use. Itâs almost a ‘set and forget’ device, requiring minimal intervention once it’s up and running. The instructions were clear and straightforward, making the setup process a breeze. This was particularly helpful for a novice like myself, allowing me to focus on other tasks without constant worry.Waking up to the sound of chicks peeping was a delightful surprise one morning! The incubator made the hatching process smooth and somewhat magical. It was truly a joy to see new life emerging with little fuss, and all the hatched chicks were healthy and strong, which speaks to the quality of the environment provided by the OBI-12. Happy hatching!
