I really like this heater for small aquariums. Very convenient to use with the external controls. The display is large and easy to read. Holds a steady temp. The temp shown is a few degrees off from actual temps but nothing out of the ordinary.

Stopped working after a year
Lasted exactly one year. After that, the thermometer broke (was showing the water as being super hot, almost boiling hot), which in turn turned off the heater. So my fish almost die because the temp was 60F for a couple of days until I was able to replace it with a better on.

Honest review of an amazing small fish tank heater
I bought this to heat a small betta fish tank. My tank is 0.7 gallons….its the Penn Plax triple betta fish tank. I only have one betta however this heater fits the tank so that I could have three fish in the tank if I wanted to. This heater keeps my tank between 77 and 79 degrees F. This is a perfect temperature for bettas. The reviews mentioning that this heater does not adjust temperature properly are only partially correct….this heater is rated for tanks between 0.5 and 2 gallons….however smaller tanks will heat easier than larger ones…meaning a lower setting will make a higher temperature. So my 0.7 gallon tank heats to 77 degrees F if I set the heater to heat to 74 degrees F. My house also has AC in summer and warm heating for winter…..your temperature range my vary if you don’t have central AC. If buying this for small fish bowls just test it first to see where the temperature will go before adding your fish. My betta has been happy for months now. I would recommend this heater for anyone with a fish bowl or small betta habitat. It works….looks decent inside the tank too.

Great design and quality
I like that the heater is compact but powerful enough to heat the tank size it is rated for. The cord is a practical length. The controller is easy to use, and the temperature/adjustment display screen is very convenient, very easy to see what the current temperature is and what adjustments you have made.

Amazing
First heater Iâve bought for my two gallon betta tank that *actually* does the job right. Heats up quickly and never goes above the desired temperature. I bought this one after my last heater from a different brand killed my last betta. It was supposed to have a shut off but I woke up to the tank being over 95 degrees. Very sad day. This one has worked as described and maintains set temp wonderfully as it should.

Not worth the added expense.
I received this item in Feb 9. This heater is not able to keep a proper temperature. I have it set for 82 F just to reach 74. At first I thought it was because my house was so cold, but today it is 74 in my house and the heater 74.3. I had high hopes for this slim profile heater, but it is truly disappointing. My bring shrimp seem to be fine, but I will be switching it out soon. Save your cash and purchase somewhere else.
