Good “what’s What” style starter Book. Good reference.
The book does not go into Australian saddles much. It is loaded with pictures for the novice to see what people are talking about when mentioning equipment around the barn, but does not show how to install it on your horse. Yes, I know: we each have our favorite methods of tacking up, but there are some common basics that most of us use. I would suggest future editions carry a start to finish tack up using both English and again with a Western setup. Then this book will be much better and more appropriate for the intended reader group. 4 stars, because it is not quite there. Due to the large Bits picture gallery, I would suggest it for the Riders’s book shelf as a “Keeper”.

Good content, but the book was much smaller than I anticipated I should have carefully read the dimensions). Very small print and had to use my reading glasses to read it, and even then the print was too small to completely understand and comprehend. Had to use a magnifying glass (which I must say, is a lot of bother). I liked the content but this book was not “user friendly” at all.

Descent book but needs updating
Some good ideas about tack, and a few items I didn’t know existed. However it does need updating as there are now a lot more items available for horses than listed
