They start frozen for a lot longer than most. The straps are perfect for adjusting and easy to put on.

These ice boots are fantasic!!! My 17h Thoroughbred got a bacterial infection from mud fever. His rear hocks and cannons were so swollen with cellulitis. I gave him hydrotherapy 3 times per day, used Arnica, but couldn’t use MSM, due to his recovering ulcers from racing. I used these ice boots TWICE, for 16 minutes each, and his swelling vanished. The only thing is that the fabric is a little bit thin, so don’t leave them on past 16 minutes, without an additional pad underneath, or it may cause some frost bite. Put the ice boots on your own lower legs for 16+ minutes. If it’s way too cold for you, it’s too cold for your horse. They are very nicely made, an excellent value, and will fit almost any sized horse! The velcro bands cover almost the entire wrap, so they really are, one size fits all. Perhaps they’d be too small for a Romanian Giant Draft, or maybe too big for a miniature, but maybe not! ð¥°Highly recommend!!P.S. The black goes on the outside, the blue, touches their legs. Fantastic!!! Will buy again, and again, as needed.

Sizing & Fit: These boots fit my skinny-legged 16.1 thoroughbred well. The wide elastic straps help keep the right amount of tension to keep them on without being overly tight, though it can be difficult to get them in place as the velcro straps are very sticky and kept sticking to other things as I was trying to put them on. I do wish they had a little bit of a curve for around the ankle, but theyâre flexible enough with the small cells to be able to contour a bit. Happy that these came in a 4 pack, as I usually see them in singles or doubles. Itâll be nice to ice all his legs after a hard ride or when he inevitably hurts himself again.Quality: Iâll admit I was a little confused at first about what side faced in or out, as I used to have a pair of red and black ones, and the black side is the side that went on the skin. These are the opposite, with the black facing out. These boots froze well and remained fairly flexible. A downside is that these boots are a little hard to clean. My horse pooped (of course) while he was wearing these and unfortunately got some on the back wraps. I rinsed it with a hose well, but I imagine in colder weather itâd be hard to get stains out unless you brought them inside and thawed them before scrubbing. Overall I think these are decent boots, and Iâd recommend them to someone who wanted to get 4 boots at once for a fair price.
