Edit: I have edited my initial review, because I had someone else test them as well. Their grip strength is around 146lbs. They were able to use the tool BUT they still had to work at it. SO my conclusion, if you are an average joe or arthritic, you will not br able to use these nippers. BUT they do work.Original: At first glance, these seem sturdy, although I tested these nippers today on my Painted Saddle horse, and they didnât cut a thing. Instead of trimming, they just clamped onto the hoof wall and got stuck, which made the job frustrating and unsafe. Hoof tools need to cut cleanly to avoid slips and accidentsâthese donât even come close. Compared to professional farrier nippers that glide through the hoof wall, these are simply ineffective. Save your money and invest in real farrier-grade tools; your horseâs safety depends on it.
