Be Sure To Adjust The Blade Tension
When I first plugged these in, they were very loud. Then I figured out the blade tension screw was set tight. After properly adjusting the tension they quieted down (I would have known this had I read the directions BEFORE turning them on, so my bad). They cut well, but be sure to oil and keep oiled and clean during use. I have a 24-year-old Appy with Cushing’s and so his coat gets thick and long. These did a good job, but I had to pause periodically to clean the blade and reapply oil. Easy to do, and kept them from getting hot.

This clipper is a little loud but didnât bother my horse at all. She has Cushing and very hairy that is not shedding quick enough. I kept using a cooling spray because they do get hot. It is a little heavy but what I needed for her.

They get really hot at the base of them..on the metal part becareful it could burn your animals but I was successful in my cutting

Useless
Barely even clipped the hair. I tried it on different hair lengths. All horses had been bathed before and were clean and dry. Didnât clip well at all. No matter the speed, angle or direction. I have been clipping horses for 12 years and havenât ever had clippers so awful.

Very heavy and noisy, horses afraid
I did not realize how heavy this clipper was, and it was very awkward to hold. When I turned it on, the buzzing was so loud, it scared the horse. The noise level can be adjusted but the clippers will not clip as fast. I did not even put it on the horse to try it, because I did not want to risk them panicking and me getting hurt.It seems well made, and was packaged in a hard plastic carrying case, but for me, the weight of it and the loud buzzing noise was a bit too much.Unfortunately I did not return it within the time frame, (within a few days) so I am forced to keep it, although I will never use it.

Works great and saved me a bunch of time.
Used this on a suspected Cushings oldie pony. Third clippers I have used this year—the others just would not cut his wooly hair. This clipper powered right through and I was done in less than 10 mins a side. Which is AWESOME. It does not give you a show-ring cut, but if you are trying to manage something that needs clipping every 60 or 90 days, give these a try.

A bit on the heavy side. However sturdy, durable, adjustable, smooth operation are words I have to describe this product. Unsure of long lasting that takes time. At this stage of life and operation I would recommend this product!

The clipper arrived on time but there was oil all over the clipper and the inside of the case. The lid on the oil bottle was not screwed on tightly. The clipper is very loud and scaring the animal. It is very heavy duty – too heavy duty for my needs.
