PLECOS LOVE ALGAE WAFERS

Plecostomus can lose body mass over time when not fed properly. Most people think they can survive eating the algae in the aquarium exclusively, this couldn’t be farther from the truth. They require a nutrient mix that is high in vegetable ingredients, but also require specific amino acids, vitamins and minerals. For this reason, even if you chose to feed fresh vegetables, be sure a formulated diet, like Hikari Algae Wafers, is part of your offering. They also love to scrape their food from surfaces, like driftwood. For this reason our pellet is a disc shape which allows them to feed more instinctually.

Feeding Guide: Many plecos are nocturnal feeders, keep this in mind when choosing when and how much to feed. Feed up to two times per day the amount of food your fish will completely consume within about an hour. Always remove any uneaten food after the feeding period and avoid over-feeding.
