Great for shelling, strong mesh
I donât have a horse so I didnât get this feeding bag for that purpose so I canât review it for that use. I got this to use as a shelling bag for my beach trips to the SWFL coast. I collect a lot of seashells and I need some kind of mesh bag that allows water to flow out. Most of the mesh seashell collecting bags are quite small with a narrow zippered opening so Iâve been looking for a larger, strong mesh bag with a wide opening. When I saw this bag, I knew it was almost perfect.Pros:-The size and shape is perfect for seashell collecting- it is cylindrical shaped with a wide10â opening and it measures 10â tall-The mesh is made of a very study, durable, soft to the touch plastic. Itâs hard to explain that better, but Iâll try. Some meshes on bags are thin and scratchy and can give you a carpet burn on your knuckles if youâre not careful. Those type of meshes I find tear and rip so easily. The mesh on this bag is thicker and you would really have to try to tear it or puncture it with force. But it is easy on the skin and softer with a slight grippy quality. Just top notch for seashells because with the sharp shells and large quantity I gather, I have no fear that this mesh canât handle it without fail.-On the inside of bag there is a soft, thick lining. It works perfectly to protect the side of my hip from the shells in the bag. I have another seashell collecting bag Iâve used for years and it was always so painful once I filled it with sandy, sharp shells. It would scratch and rub my skin on my hip till it was too uncomfortable to keep the bag on my shoulder. This lining when positioned toward my side eliminates that problem.-The strap has a soft, padded protector on it which is a little small but works perfectly on my shoulder when I wear it like a crossbody bag.Cons:-The strap material seems a little flimsy and light duty compared to the rest of the quality materials the bag is made of. It wouldnât hurt to have a thicker strap made of seatbelt material that is tough yet smooth to the touch.-The comfort pad on the strap could be about 3 inches longer, but I understand this is for feeding horses not shell collecting so no complaints here!-It does kind of collapse inward on itself and would benefit from some sort of support to keep its shape and keep the opening wide open.Overall, Iâm super happy that I found this bag and will be replacing my old shell bag with this one. Highly recommended for shelling!

Works wonderfully for seashell collecting
Like another reviewer, I got this for collecting seashells, so I can’t comment on its use as a feed bag, but it’s awesome as a seashell bag!Our beach is mid-California coast so there’s sometimes rocks and sea glass as well that the kids want to collect, so having the sturdy bottom on the bag is actually fantastic. Overall it felt very sturdy and well-made and a solid thickness that still air dries well, and the color is pretty and stands out well against the sand. We used it through a weeklong beach vacation, filling it up everyday and then having the kids pick out just one item each to keep and dumping the rest into the waves, and it held up great!

Quality feed bag
This is a nce bag. I like that it is a bright color so it is easier to find. It is a tad bit shorter than I would like. We like the padded strap that goes over the head. It is easy to clean and durable – much more durable than others I have used. It works as it should and is a pretty typical price for this item. We are pleased.

Nice feed bag
The bag seems like it will endure but only time will tell how tough this bag is. The size works for regular size horses and ponies, but is a bit too large for a mini horse. It still technically works, but it goes around the whole head and you have to adjust the straps so it’s not too long for them to reach the food. The color is nice and easy to see from far away. Can keep an eye on whether it came off. It is easy to rinse off if it gets dirty. I don’t think I’d try throwing it in the washer, but probably just shampoo it to clean off dirt.

So, I mostly got this for the color. It’s a great feed bag and we like that it adjust for a better fit. Decent size and sturdy mesh.

Great bag!
This is a solid feed bag! Pictured on a horse who wears cob/Arabian size equipment.First, what I really like about this particular bag is the breathable but sturdy material, and the bright colors. Being able to use a different color for each horse makes it easy to identify that each horse is getting the proper feed. This is highly adjustable, and large enough for quite a bit of food and larger horses. It has an internal flap that catches feed and redirects it back to the bottom if the horse flips their chin up while eating. And I love that it has extra padding over the poll, as a full bag can be quite heavy. I think this will last for some time!There are not many cons, but there was a pretty noticeable chemical smell on the product when it first arrived. my horse hesitated to put her nose in it at first, and she is very familiar with feed bags. after a few days of hanging in the barn, it is fine. I recommend letting it air out a few days before use unless you have a feed with a very strong scent. I would also love slightly less neon colors (minor! the color coding ability out weights the “a bit much” nature of the color). and the only feature that I have appreciated in other bags that this was missing was a fixed opening (often wire on the inside of the noseband to keep the bag from collapsing as it empties). all in all, I would buy again!

Love it! it works perfectly and my mare loves it.
Got this becuase my filly has been getting into her mother’s grain now that she’s taller and can reach so i needed a way to separate their grain but they’re sharing a stall. So the mare loves this grain bag. She was a feral mare when i first got her and she would freak out if I tried to have her stick her nose into a bucket for supplements but she loves this bag. She even will dunk her grain and soak it if she wants it wet and then eat it. So this is perfect for her and the color is cute. We got the teal/aqua color. And best thing ever, it keeps the baby from getting into her grain.
