Like a lot of great American success stories, Happy Jack is a company born of necessity. It was the early 1940s in Snow Hill, NC. James G Exum had a kennel full of beloved beagles with mange. Being a tinkerer, amateur chemist, and the owner of a very large Pharmacology book, James mixed up a batch of mange medicine that worked better than anything else on the market. As different ailments struck his dogs, James created treatments to cure them.

WORKS FAST AND EFFICIENTLY
MIRACLE WORKER!! Seriously this stuff saved my dog. He was itching so bad and licking, he began to have small open wounds from all the licking and scratching. His whole back scaly and red and his poor tail was totally encrusted and nasty.I will say I didnât take him to the vet, the economy is hard enough as it is and I just couldnât afford a vet bill plus any prescriptions. I did research as best as I could and came to the conclusion he caught mange and it was totally taking over his lower back and hind legs. I did as much research as I could and came upon this product. On a whim I ordered it and am so grateful it lived up to all its claims!! I followed the directions and applied it one day on one day off. And would bathe my dog at the end of the week.I did this faithfully for two and a half weeks. The first photo was taken on Aug 4th and the update is Aug 17th. I was also worried the damage to his skin would affect the hair regrowth but as you can see his hair is growing back quickly and healthy. He has not itched or whined like he normally was due to all the discomfort he had. I did have a cone on him 24/7 through out the process and am still keeping it on him for another two weeks to be totally sure he is fully recovered.For reference if necessary my dog is a yorkeepoodle weighing 17lbs, and I applied it for two weeks and am barely at half the bottle. Should I ever need it again, it should be enough for another round of treatment.CAUTION: IT STINKS!! BADD, it smells like gasoline or burnt tire. A true industrial chemical smell but I didnât care and made sure to apply outside on my deck before bringing him in. I didnât have any issues once I allowed it to dry which took about 10-15 minutes with it rubbing off on clothes or couch etc. I did regardless keep him more isolated during this time to ensure it wouldnât rub off anywhere.Only thing I wish it was easier to dispense. I bought a pack of gloves and cotton pads during his Treatment for easier application and found using a small glass bowl I could use after shaking the bottle and pouring some in the glass to dampen the cotton pads and apply was the easiest way for me to get it done. Other wise pouring straight out of the bottle it gets messy and drips and trust me with how bad it smells you donât want it everywhere

Just works the first time
This stuff has a pungent piney smell that I sort of like but my wife finds strong. If you want a product that will work the first time, help your dog heal and get back to happiness once again, this is it. I lay it on heavy about 1:1 ratio let it dry on them. Re wash a couple days later and can already see healing and new hair growth. This stuff is very effective, easy to use and last a long time, enough to treat 2 dogs and bring back their comfort.

Miracle worker
This product works miracles. I ordered this for my brothers dog who had places on his back rear where he had scratched & his hair had fell out. He put it on him one time & the scratching & itching immediately stopped & the places started to dry up. Would highly recommend but the smell is awful so be prepared.

Happy Jack definitely has a new customer in meThe main wash is doing amazing work for my allergy, prone dogbut when the people say the smell lingers in your house for days, please believe that I am on day three after doing my first treatment and the smell is just unbearable and lingers in and outside of my house.. if it is at all possible do this somewhere outside of your house far away

Good product, bad packaging
Seeing an improvement with my dogs skin but the bottle had to be cut open to use. Horrible packaging and the child safe lid would not open for me.

This product is a god send
works super fast I saw results within one day and it brought my fur baby comfort almost immediately after putting it on, it improved her itching by a ton. my babyâs coat is finally starting to thicken up. it is super oily so Iâd recommend trying to keep your fur baby confined while itâs drying. I personally used a cheap spray bottle off Amazon and filled it up with the medicine then sprayed it on them and rubbed it in which made it pretty easy to apply. Donât be put off by the smell the pine tar makes it smell a lot like pine sol.

Buyer beware
I canât believe all the good reviews. I donât know if this product works or not but the application process is intense. They recommend using this for seven straight days. You do not wash it off you leave it on your animal. They say that once the product is dry, the animals can hassle access to the house again but everywhere the dog sits or lays the odor from this product stays. My whole house stinks. Iâm not even going to continue applying. I will find another product. This was a waste of money. it has now been a week and a half since I stopped using the product I have given my dog 4 baths . I have laundered both of her beds and blankets twice. I will probably have to end up throwing everything away. Iâm not sure what Iâm gonna do about the dog because she still stinks. The product has absorbed into her skin and is on her breath. I canât even be in the same room as her she smells so bad. I have contacted this customer support of this product three times now and no one has gotten back to me. Use this at your own risk

Helping more than other products
This medication definitely works my dog is noticeably scratching less if at all after the first day using it. People are being extreme on the smell. Itâs more like a very strong vapor rub smell so definitely use thick gloves to apply it and have your dog in a well ventilated area. Itâs definitely worth your dog feeling better.
