Finally a squirrel proof birdfeeder that works
Just put this feeder out today and enjoyed seeing the squirrels try to navigate it and fall down every time. I have never bought a squirrel proof birdfeeder that actually worked and I have tried many of them. This one definitely worked. It is a very solid and well made feeder. I am very happy with it.

Only the smallest of birds can perch on this. Our finches donât even like it. The cardinals, blue jays, woodpeckers and other birds canât even perch on it.

Of all the new tube bird feeders I put into service this summer, I think this is the best design of all of them. I had trouble with squirrels getting to the hanging feeder that was not squirrel proof. This design will keep them from getting any seed. The perches are weighted so that they drop with heavy pressure. I especially like that it has two protective roofs to keep the rain from getting the bird seed wet. The second day it was hanging, it rained pretty good. The seeds kept dry so there is no need to purchase an extra rain roof to hang over the top of the feeder.The perches are constructed so that if a squirrel did get a hold of it, the perch drops down preventing the squirrel from getting to the feeding port and eating the seeds; it shouldnât be able to hang on to perch. I havenât seen a squirrel try to feed from it yet, but I am confident the squirrels will be defeated with this feeder.I also like the design of the roof slope as the mourning doves canât perch on it and dirty the feeder roof with their droppings as they did with the other non-squirrel proof feeder I was using.The removable top makes for easy filling. The feeding port isnât completely open which is nice when filling as very little seed leaks out the port. The birds can easily feed from the ports. At times, I also see them just sitting on the perch under the lower roof. I think they like the protection it gives them while they rest a bit. It only took a couple of hours for the birds to start eating from it after I hung it out.Overall, this is a nice feeder. It is well made, seems like it will last quite a while and I recommend it wholeheartedly.
