Great finch feeder
I recently hung a sock nyger feeder to see if I could attract goldfinches, and indeed they started coming. I just bought this more sturdy and attractive feeder to replace the white sock. I thought it might take awhile to get the finches to used to it, but five minutes after hanging it I had a finch feeding. It seems sturdy and is a dark green which blends in with its surroundings, and has a “roof” to help protect it from rain. I highly recommend it.

Easy to open and close to fill/refill. The small baffle top helps to keep the seed dry, to the extent possible. Has been up for about 4 months. Parts are beginning to rust, but, it is out 24/7. The price is reasonable for the capacity.

Put it up, filled it with thisle and had finches almost immediately! Easy to fill, hold a lot and and seems like it will do well with the Michigan winter. we shall seee.

Most Popular Feeder With the Birds
I put this feeder out in the evening, by the next morning it had 8 finches on it. The holes are the perfect size and the birds love it. It’s well made, sturdy and will be easy to clean. You do have to twist the top off (which really means the whole thing must be taken down) in order to fill it, which isn’t convenient but this does give me extra incentive to clean it every time I fill it (which I should be doing anyway). The squirrels haven’t tried to get at it yet but I don’t think they will as the holes are very tiny and made of metal so they can’t chew through it.
