I’m impressed!
Kudos to the author and her team. What a handy, attractive, well thought out and designed guide! I got this book after someone told me I needed instruction on how to groom a horse. I was expecting a 4-H or kid’s guide but that’s NOT what this is. While graphically attractive with crisp photos and bright colors, the format and descriptions lay the process out perfectly. This handy guide includes not just the basics but specific requirements for breed shows and riding styles. The only small criticism I have is that, as a book, it is not the best format to show how to braid. (There are some great instructional videos on Youtube.) Dobbin might not be a show star but he can look his best. Oh, and my untrained grooming technique? It was spot on but now it’s even better!

No nonsense grooming guide
I think this book was great for the price I paid. It was a little worn but I can see why. I used the ideas in it for my horses and it gave me great information and some basics I already knew but also some tips on things I didn’t. Always nice to have in the horse library.

Well illustrated
The kids liked the book a great deal and enjoyed flipping through to look at the pictures. I thought it was well laid out and had a lot of good information about the requirements for breed shows and so on. If you’re just learning or don’t have a trainer to help you for your specific sport, this is definitely the book to choose.

This is an excellent grooming guide! The photos add extra instruction to the easy to follow text on how to properly brush and bathe your horses. I have owned horses most of my life but just recently took an interest in showing them at western pleasure shows; this helped to bring my grooming skills up a notch in order to show off my horses beauty!
