Great for chicks!
Used this for baby chicks. Kept them warm after they hatched, all 12 chicks survived the first 3 days after which we had to return them. The clamp is strong and we experienced no issues with it falling offâit is not heavy at all. Great quality for the price, served our purpose well.

Great purchase
Lifespan is great. Bought like 7 years ago, still working fine. Easy and ready to use out of package. Good quality

great product!
cheaper than the other lamps out there but a higher wattage and higher quality, love it! i also like the feature of being able to apply a clamp or not instead of it being fixed to the product.

Really quite nice
5.5″ on/off switch versionFor the cheap price I was honestly expecting something of lesser quality. Mine has no defects, came undamaged, has a switch on the cord, has a nice heavy porcelain socket, black enamel paint on the outside of the dome, inside is not crazy reflective but it’s not bad, kind of like an aluminum look, decent vent holes. Just like the pic but it’s hard to really gauge quality from the pic. Quality is decent. It’s rated for 75 watts and it seems well made enough to handle that but I feel that would get a bit unnecessarily hot in this size dome. If I was going above 40 or 50 watts I’d get an 8″ or one of the deeper 5.5″ domes to have more air space around the bulb. No sense gettin a fixture absurdly hot for no reason.I’m currently using mine with a 35 watt halogen bulb for basking spot, and I have a 1″ porcelain socket extender in there to get the bulb just a bit lower and it’s working out splendidly. It does get hot after a while but not like 3rd degree burns the second you touch it hot. Kind of a side note, those socket extenders are nice for the small halogen bulbs because they also get the bulb more centered vertically in the fixture so you have optimal room for heat dissipation. Just be sure to get porcelain and decent quality.Anyway this is a great little dome. For $7 I was kind of expecting it to be more chintzy and just use it for a small UVB CFL or a night light or something. But I’m comfortable with a 35 watt halogen in there. It would be awesome for a small coil style UVB but it’s not deep enough for the double “U” style like the Reptisun mini I typically use. It would work if you had it suspended but a lot of the bulb would stick out and that’s just not sexy at all. For anything like a standard sized bulb or smaller it’s excellent.

Great for all pets & bulbs. Quality ceramic socket & reflector make it so you CANT BEAT THIS PRICE!
This is a great lamp quality and pricewise you can’t go wrong! Great for vieving your animals day or night without bothering their day/night cycle. Especially good for reptiles and amphibians. I suggest purchasing multiple lamps at least 2 but optimally 3 so you can have a daylight bulb in one, a ceramic HEAT ONLY bulb with NO visable light (on Amazon for about $12+) to keep on constantly for better temperature range and a night bulb for night viewing. Having used many lamp types and brands over 18 years I suggest using this or another quality dimmable lamp over others especially ones sold at Wal-Mart or Home Depot type stores the lower price isn’t worth it as they usually don’t work for bulbs over 75 watts especially with heat bulbs and if they do they’ll work for awhile but the plastic sockets begin to turn brown making them brittle and prone to cracking causing them to stop working. Also their usually just on or off, no adjustments. So although cheaper I’ve learned you’ll be replacing it much sooner than a brand like Fluker’s and have to buy another so your better off buying quality the first time also being dimmable the Fluker’s type combined with one or more lamps can keep your pets habitat temperature at the perfect setting day and night since for example: with 3 lamps and 3 different bulb types: Ceramic heat only, daylight basking, and a red or black heat/viewing lamp you can reduce the ceramic bulb temp during the day with the basking lamp then increase it at night when you switch off the day light and turn on a red or black bulb for night viewing or all the way up if no constant light at night. BEWARE OF CHEAP LAMPS WITH PLASTIC SOCKETS, CHECK YOUR BULBS WATTAGE, AND THE SOCKETS RATING AS USING HEAT LAMPS CAN MELT THE SOCKET CAUSING DAMAGE, INJURY, OR DEATH TO NOT ONLY YOUR PET BUT YOUR HOME, YOURSELF AND OTHERS!! I like the Flukers as they not only come with a quality ceramic socket and reflector but it’s dimmable for easy adjustment to your pets habitat temp. Finally it’s a great lamp all around especially at the price. I’ll update this if I have new information but as I’ve owned multiple of each size for years prior to getting a couple more and haven’t had any issues
Amazing!!!!!!!! The fit was perfect and it came out so lovely and exactly what I asked for!!!! I even requested if they can customize the lining on men suit to match the dress and they made my vision come existence. Thank you! I highly recommend –
Works perfectly!
Easy to assemble, works great

I’ve had this item since may, 5 months. The item has a fault which has caused 2 bulbs to blow before I realised. I now have to order another from somewhere else.

Used my last light hood with bulbs from 75-150 Watts for 6 years without knowing it was only rated to 50 Watts. It burnt out one day and thankfully I was there, and realized this was why! This new light hood with clamp is the same size of hood, but rated to 150 Watts! Perfect! Has been working perfectly, left on 24/7 in a terrarium, for the last 8 months. Thanks Fluker’s!
