Better for your pets health wise than oral meds.
These collars have natural oils on them and NOT HARMFUL to pets or their humans. I tried other collars like these but found these to be the best. We use them on our two dogs and one cat. The price is right, too. They smell decent enough but the biggest plus is that they have solved our issues with flea and tick treatment which has been a nightmare.We started using these collars a couple of years ago when our dog started acting lethargic and sick. I had the vet do all reasonable tests and came up empty. After extensive research I thought that it could possibly be due to the flea and tick oral treatments we were giving our pets monthly. Within two months of stopping the Nextgard, our darling Maggie was much better. After about four months she was back to her old self. My conclusion is that the oral meds as well as the Seresto collars and the liquid Nextgard are essentially poisoning our pets. I made three claims with Nextgard with possible reactions so that our experiences would HAVE to be included in their data. Having always used the oral meds since they came out, and using the liquid Nextgard before that, I realized that two prior incidents we had with our other dogs were very well likely to have been caused by these “medicines”: #1 – many years ago, our 13 year old beloved golden retriever Rosie, started coughing up blood and eventually died of internal bleeding (her vet had no idea what could cause this and since she was elderly, we mercifully put her down). #2 – a few years later, our darling young puggle Tunie, suffered a grandmal seizure, couldn’t walk, was vomiting, etc. We took her to emergency vet where they determined she was blind and may not make it through the night. They gave her fluids and sent us home (we are not willing to spend thousands on a pet for testing, let alone treatment…as much as we adore them). Thank God, she made it through the night, regained her sight and back to normal within a few days. Spoke with our regular vet who just couldn’t imagine what it could be. Really? None of these dogs ever got into any thing they shouldn’t. And to think I continued to poison our poor Tunie for another year before the above incident happened to our Maggie that I finally ceased giving our pets this oral flea and tick treatment. Of course you can’t prove it, but because these meds are for animals, they do not require FDA approval and there is no recourse even if you could prove it – just the original cost of the pet if they die…if you’re lucky. The number of pets they test on is ridiculously low and would NEVER get past the FDA if they were for humans. I will not use something on an animal that I wouldn’t use on myself. Maybe you now notice the disclaimer they finally give on the commercials regarding seizures. I believe it’s like playing Russian roulette with your pet. It doesn’t have to be a first time it’s given, reaction or no reaction, incident either. The poison can build up after many doses until an acute reaction occurs (like with Rosie and Tunie), or a chronic reaction with a steady decline (like with Maggie). This collar makes the choice easy.

Works well
This is my third purchase of the flea and tick collar for my dog.  I like the fact that it’s natural and no chemicals, my dog is fine with the scent.It also comes with a flea comb, tweezers and a second small collar.  I can’t say it’s the only thing that keeps fleas away because I also have a tag on the collar and use natural spray, however I believe it certainly helps.

DANGEROUS PRODUCT!!!
If I could give this negative 5 stars I would. I am extremely unhappy and angry right now. I purchased these collars thinking they would be a safe option for flea and mosquito prevention for my 5 cats because it was a simple collar and the “safe” hype around them, along with looking at hundreds of reviews. I was WRONG! I only put the collars on my two older cats, because the collars were too difficult to cut and fit and they take some force to adjust. I left an entire finger width plus extra to make sure the collars wouldn’t tighten up around my cats’ necks. I was desperate to prevent my cats from getting bitten by mosquitoes and fleas since they are outside a lot. Today, almost a month later, I was finally feeling well enough to give my 4 year old Siamese a bath. I was appalled when I removed his collar. His neck was extremely red and irritated where the collar had been, all the way around his neck, almost to the point of being raw and open. I know this has happened within the last 5 days, and about 4 weeks in after putting on the collar – I know because I check him for fleas at the beginning of each week if not more, up around his neck where fleas like to hide and his neck has not been red until now. My cat is healthy with no skin conditions or known allergies – up until now. The propylene that the collar is made from is the culprit I’m sure. With the added humidity and moisture from recent rains the ingredient in the collar was finally able to aggravate the skin. While generally considered safe for humans it clearly isn’t for pets – not at this level. This collar contains over 80% propylene – so this product is NOT “safe” for your pets at all. It will eventually rub the skin raw like it did my cat. Contact dermatitis I guess. I attached photos so you can see the affects for yourselves but the pictures look better than the actual injury this collar gave my cat. I will NEVER buy this product again or anything similar. The only SAFE thing for flea, tick, and mosquito protection is Brewer’s Yeast or red rice yeast. I know from experience Brewer’s Yeast works very well – unfortunately my cat got picky and wouldn’t eat it anymore so now I’m going to figure out a way to get all 5 of them to take it in some form. I’m beginning to think the good reviews on this product were paid for, and if not, there are a lot of people who aren’t paying attention to the products they use on their pets. This is why I check my pets once or twice a week after giving them an initial product since problems can arise after-the-fact.

This is our second time purchasing for our cat and dog, it works really well, once we put it on they stop scratching and we really haven’t found any fleas on them when combing through. They don’t seem irritated at all by the necklace and overall very happy
