Color a Little Different
I received this decoration/hiding log yesterday, and I really like it. I’m actually putting it in an aquarium instead of using it for a reptile, and it will work very well for that purpose. I’m keeping this aquarium as natural looking as possible (hopefully eventually switching over to all real plants/rocks/driftwood), so I was a little disappointed to discover that this log has more of an orangey-brown tint than the natural brown look in the product photos. I just moved it into a corner partially behind some fake plants though, and it blends in well enough.I saw that there was a negative review about the size. The measurements are clearly listed, so make sure you check them before ordering. This is definitely not meant for a large reptile but should be perfectly fine for most smaller species and ages.This log seems to be pretty good quality. It has a decent amount of weight to it, enough that it doesn’t feel like it’s going to fall apart any time soon, and enough that it stays on the bottom of the tank and doesn’t float. It seems to be competitively priced compared to other similar products. To me it’s well worth the price.

This is a smaller log (size S), but is exactly the size depicted in the description and photos. It looks nice for what you are receiving and has a natural(ish) look to it. This would look great in a small to medium aquarium, but I actually ordered it to use in our vivarium with hermit crabs and isopods. The two sides give slightly different looks, though you may want to position it so that you do not see the inside, as it does have a decidedly unfinished look to it. It is decently weighted so that it would not float in an aquarium and will not be knocked over with small lizards or hermit crabs climbing on it, providing a sturdy base for climbing. It gives a nice hide for small creatures needing cover. I am very pleased with the product and is seems like it will be easy to care for and quite functional for years to come.
