Great cage, very happy with purchase!
As a new Hamster owner trying to succeed at creating a comfortable habitat for my hamster, Iâll share what Iâve learned so far for those who might find it helpful.The Ferplast Favola Large Hamster Cage arrived looking just as advertised, cage was packaged well and arrived without issue. Pros: middle insert can be removed, itâs easy to clean, paper stays contained in the bottom portion of cage, comes with some accessories (wheel, water bottle, food dish, house) Cons: Door placement on top of cage can be hard to maneuver hand around inside, provided wheel is small (size 6.5) and provided water bottle didnât work properly. Below Iâve listed the wheel and water bottle I bought to replace these.1. **Cage/habitat size is very important** the more space you can provide the better. Per the description, each cage is approx. 340 sq. inches of floor space. This is smaller than the recommended habitat size per my research for a hamster (Dwarf and Chinese Hamsters require a minimum of 600 sq. inches of floor space, Syrian Hamsters need a minimum of 900 sq. inches of floor space.) I bought 2 of these cages to start (half price of each cage at time of purchase, equaled 2 cages for the price of what 1 normally costs in other similar type cages). Combined, 2 cages provide approx. 680 sq. inches of floor space, thus meeting the minimum habitat requirement in sq. inch floor space size for a Dwarf or Chinese Hamster. For a Syrian Hamster, 3 of these cages combined would provide approx. 1,020 sq. inches of floor space.2. **Tubes** for connecting to cages/habitat â the Ferplast brand tubes (can purchase on Amazon) work great, theyâre sturdy, can take apart for cleaning, I added a few âtelescopingâ tube pieces making my building/connecting easier.3. **Cart to hold Cages** COMPLETELY OPTIONAL, but I found it made my experience much easier for set up and ongoing cage maintenance. Per the description, each cage dimension is 23.6 L x 14.4 W x 11.8 H. I found in noting this size and researching some â3 Tier Kitchen, Bakerâs Rack Microwave Oven Stand/Cartâ fit the size needed to hold cages nicely. I also found at a popular Craft Store a Rolling Cart with 2 metal shelves, and drawers underneath that works perfectly for holding 2 cages. Prices vary, but I located both options priced each at around $85. There are many options out there for 2 or 3 tier shelf racks/carts, I personally like a rolling cart so I can move it for easier cleaning then lock wheels down once back in place.4. **Hamster Wheel** I replaced the included wheel with a Niteangel Super-Silent (can purchase on Amazon) a size Small (8.3) fit in the middle of the insert without issue. You can adjust the wheel up/down as needed. My hamster loves this wheel and itâs super quiet!5. **Water Bottle** I replaced the included water bottle with a bigger capacity one. The Lixit bottle (can purchase on Amazon). I did find that it does occasionally drip, so I placed the Niteangel Hamster Glass Water bowl (purchase on Amazon) under the water spout and it works great. My hamster doesnât move the dish around due to the weight of it, and the dome in the middle I like because he doesnât get wet. He sometimes drinks out of the dish where the water drips collect, other times he uses the spout.Overall, Iâm satisfied and feel the value is great for the price I paid. My hamster loves the plastic house accessory that came with the cage. I would recommend getting this cage as long as itâs partnered to connect with another as you do need more space than this cage alone to meet the space requirement needs of your hamster.

great for dwarfs and robos – not for syrians
so, I got this cage about a month ago, but Amazon offered me a used option for $50 so I got that one. It was literally as good as new. I have a Syrian hamster, a dwarf, and 2 robos. unfortunately, this cage is too small for a fully grown Syrian (they would barely be able to stand up all the way on either level unless you take out the 2nd floor) but in my personal opinion, it is the best possible cage in the US that you can get under $150 for dwarf and robo hamsters.an expert would consider this cage to be smaller than the minimum size required for a hamster which is 20 gallons, but experts also don’t count a 2nd floor as floor space. in this particular cage, I honestly think you can count the 2nd floor. it is easy to get to both floors and they are both large floors. my dwarf who is using the cage now is obsessed because he LOVES burrowing and now, he has an entire floor only for burrowing, without it interfering with his food, water, and toys which are on the 2nd floor.while this is a pricey cage, for the US its cheap for how good it is when our only other options are fish tanks or $200 cages which are half as good as this onethe water bottle works, although I also put in a water bowl which my hamster prefers but the bottle definitely seems to work. the food bowl is great, but definitely doesn’t need to be that big. it’s great to give your hamster lots of food options but if you want to portion control, you can totally use a smaller bowl. the house is cute, the opening is pretty small and might not fit a larger dwarf but for mine, it works fine. it wouldn’t fit a Syrian, but you shouldn’t keep Syrians in this cagein conclusion, this is pretty much the best cage you can get for a dwarf or robo in the US if you want to spend under $150. it shouldn’t be used for a Syrian, and if you can get it used for a cheaper, that’s great, but even for this price, it’s totally worth it.hope this was helpful!

The cage is good size for our hamster. However, the wheel is terrible! The wheel mechanism is not smooth and itâs too heavy for the hamster to run/ turn. I need to buy a separate wheel. It also arrived with a crack but itâs too much trouble for me to return it.

Me hubiera gustado antes ver una reseña para ir por una compra más segura y me arriesgue.La jaula es grande y facil de armar, la habÃa dimensionado más pequeña, pero todo lo contrario, tengo dos jerbas y están felices con el nuevo habitad, se la pasan corriendo y escondiéndose.Contras:La rueda qué trae es muy pequeña (me atrevo a decir que para cualquier roedor) y opte por cubrir ese espacio con otra más adecuada.La limpieza costará porque se tiene que desmontar. ):Pd. No se confien y tengan a sus animalitos en una sola jaula, si esta en su posibilidad, adapten otra jaula ya qué tiene conectores qué hacen fácil la instalación.

The cage is nice and big the bars are close together so my dwarf hamster canât escape. The wheel only fits in the centre part which is totally fine. Down side is that is your hamster likes to hide under the top floor it is really hard to get to them the only access to the inside of the case is from the top. Itâs a bit of work to clean and you have to completely take it apart. The water bottle it comes with the spout is kinda big so it stretches the bars – we got a different bottle so my hamster wouldnât escape through the bars that were pushed open more from the water bottle. All that being said this cage is great. So much room for them to run around and burrow. 100% would recommend. If you are lazy and donât want to spend a half our a week cleaning your cage Iâd say donât buy this one

Guter Käfig, hab ihn zum transport und für die Zeit genutzt wo der Hamster in Urlaubspflege war bei meiner Familie. War prima. Für auf dauer sollten ihre Tiere aber ein gröÃeres gehege bekommen. Auch kleine Zwerg und Goldhamster brauchen etwas mehr platz.
