The incidence of sand colic is often thought to be limited to horses in sandy areas; however, horses can have sand colic episodes regardless of where they live. Horses that graze or eat off the ground are more likely to pick up and digest sand and dirt, which can increase the risk of sand colic. Sand colic can occur when a horse ingests sand or soil particles, either accidentally or intentionally, that accumulate in the horse’s intestinal tract and can cause an obstruction in your horse’s colon. Using Equi Aid Natural Horse Psyllium Pellets may help reduce the possibility of digestive colic. It contains premium psyllium fiber, in palatable apple & molasses flavored psyllium pellets, to support the removal of sand and dirt from the ventral colon.

A price worth paying for healthy horses
I have a horse that has a tendency towards chronic colic and this is the only thing that keeps me from spending the wee hours of the night pouring oil into him. All five of my horses love the flavor and readily eat this psyllium. I do the monthly seven day psyllium cleanse with a mid-week cleanse as well, and living in the sandy Sonoran desert, this is a lifesaver and beats the heck out of paying a $400 vet bill. Generally I add the psyllium to a mash which includes beet pulp, bran and oil, and the combination does a terrific job. I also have a Palomino who leans towards having the scours and the psyllium mash routine prevents that as well. He jumps right on this psyllium without hesitation and eats every bit.

    Effective natural product
Great natural psyllium pellets that your horse will eat. It’s effective, easy to use by following dosing instructions. The size is standard for all psyllium pellets, it is a pleasant smell, my horse takes it in but he’s always hangry.

So glad this product is on Amazon! My horse will not eat the sand clear brand I haven’t even had to mix in senior feed to entice her. Very pleased with this.
