Understand what your horse is saying to you and build a profound and lasting connection.
Do you contemplate the majestic beauty of your horse and wish you understood all the mysterious thoughts and feelings it seems to be keeping to itself?Does it seem like you need superhuman abilities to decipher the codes that your horse uses to communicate?Would you love to be a skilled horseman—one who can speak gently to their horse using the right language, cues, and tones?
In a study by the Animals & Society Institute, equestrians identified a host of skills (both verbal and non-verbal) that they deemed indispensable for those wishing to understand (and be understood by) a horse.
“There is no secret so close as that between a rider and his horse”, said Robert Smith Surtees, but to discover this secret, you need to master all of these skills.
If you ever thought that some people were “natural-born horse communicators”, know that all of them have honed their abilities through experience, observation, and the understanding that each horse is a unique being.
This guide seeks to help you strengthen your connection and build trust with your horse. Within its chapters, you will discover:
The nonverbal cues your horse is using to communicate with you—their ears, eyes, head, muzzle, and tail—are all relaying powerful messages! Why respecting your horse’s boundaries is vital to having a harmonious relationship with them, and why it is important to allow a horse to say “no”How to harness equine energy exchange to improve the health and capabilities of your horseHow to gain the trust of a young or troublesome horse and make them feel comfortable with youSmall yet powerful tricks that calm your horse down quicklyFundamental riding and haltering instructions to ensure a safe and comfortable ride for you and your horseHow to end difficult behaviors like biting, fear, or shyness by understanding what may be causing themTips on horse safety, nutrition, and toxins to avoid for optimal horse health, including primary and secondary disease prevention for horsesAnd much more.
It may seem like there is a lot to learn, but the rewards that come from embracing two-way communication with a horse are countless. No more confusion, forceful wrangling, and misunderstandings. Discover how much more rewarding and enjoyable your relationship with your horse will be once you learn to communicate with them.

A Very knowledgeable and Detailed Book!
I just received my copy of D. L. Reynoldsâ book: âEquine Health And Communication Guideâfrom Amazon. For starters, I am a big fan of this amazing and talented âhorse whispererâ! Debbie Reynolds understands the depth of connections in such a way that, watching her train a horse, feels like itâs more about the spiritual than the technique itself, though she excells in both and beyond! And lastly, the cover of this delightful book spoke to me the minute I took a glance at the horseâs eyes. At at that moment, I already got my first lesson out of the book without even reading the first page. In his eyes, I saw and realized that, the spirit inside the animal is in tune with mine. And it all depends on my compassionate aproach to make that special connection with it, as Debbie explains in various lessons. Debbie also made that connection with me when she guided me on how to have patience with Peanut, my beloved bird who visits me at my kitchen window every day for an almond, from the palm of my hand. Another very beautiful spiritual connection through understanding that patience, respect and compassion reaches and transforms anyone, including animals. In this book, I learned that Debbieâs knowledge of horses is profoundly resourceful to those who want to dive into the marvelous world of horses! Weather you are already a pro it at or a beginner, itâs guaranteed that youâll find value in her teachings. Thank you Debbie for this beautiful and well written book! Itâs a jewel in my home library! I will treasure it always! Dalva

A different approach to partnering with your horse
Most horse people live and train by the âthis is the way itâs always be doneâ¦..â. This book will open your eyes to a different way of thinking when youâre with your equine partner. Letâs face it, it IS a partnership and like any other partnership, communication and thoughtfulness are paramount. Everything in this book just makes sense and will make the reader wonder âWhy isnât THIS the way itâs always been done?â.

Great Read!
I really enjoyed this book. There really is a lot more to understanding horses and how to develop and healthy working relationship. Being raised in a family with horses but not always having the most productive relationship with them, this book helped me understand how our horses perceive us.Recommended for all levels of experience
