This type of light is essential for a reptile’s vision.UVB comes from light like UVA, and it allows vitamin D to be produced in humans and animals. Great reptile light for our turtle!
We got a turtle for a birthday gift and so I purchased this light for review. I must say, the turtle must like the lamp and the heat it generates! In fact the light that was given with the tank the turtle seemed to not like as much, pulled his head in like it was too brightâafter this heat lamp light was installed. Itâs durable and fits where I need it. I love the quality of the lamp and its functions great! The little heat meter is perfect.I love that I can dim the heat lamp, reducing the amount t of heat output and that the turtle really seemed to enjoy the heat lamp, even while bathing. Just needed to make sure I wasnât cooking the little turtle. Worth every penny especially because the turtle seemed to instantly love the new lamp over the one that was gifted with the tank.

Burned Out Instantly & Useless Cord Length
Iâm really disappointed with this heat lamp. The whole reason I bought it was to give my slug and snails a reliable basking spot, but the quality is terrible. The bulb literally blew out the very first time I turned it onâthere was a quick flash and then nothing. For a product thatâs supposed to provide consistent heat and light, thatâs completely unacceptable.Even if the bulb had worked, the cord is ridiculously short. It barely reaches from the outlet to the top of my tank, and I had to awkwardly rearrange everything just to plug it in. For anyone with a taller enclosure or an outlet thatâs not right next to the tank, this setup is basically useless.Between the blown bulb and the inconveniently short cord, I canât recommend this at all. Definitely not worth the money, and now I have to go buy another lamp just to replace it.

Small Yet Convenient
This heat lamp is currently being used for our house’s resident lizard. My sister has forgotten to turn off the old heat lamp several times so this heat lamp with a timer came as such a relief to her. It’s smaller than the old one, but to be honest, we live in Arizona and it’s warm enough in our house, so a smaller lamp was perfect for our little guy. It clips onto the edge of the cage and holds strongly to it. The only issue I have is that gravity pulls the lamp downward so that it ends up touching the mesh lid. Luckily the mesh is metal and it’s not that big of a problem. The timer is easy to set and the replacement bulbs are inexpensive. Great product!

Great little lamp
Great little lamp! It gets HOT and I love that you can adjust the heat levels. Iâve only needed to use it on the medium and lowest settings so far for my mantises. The grip hold tightly compared to other clip-on lights Iâve tried. It comes with a bulb which fit perfectly. The cord is thick and feels sturdy. Set it all up in less than a minute and it worked perfectly. The adjustable neck is strong and holds its position very well. No sagging or twisting so far. The control unit is large and is easy to understand. Great light if you need heat but canât set or hang a large unit on top like most heating lamps.

If you’re looking for a small uvb lamp this is perfect. The flexible stand is really sturdy and quality made. The clip is strong and the right tension, it’s very easy to put most anywhere. The light does cover a decent area, the size of most enclosures. I love it has a very simple timer setting, no fancy controller with a thousand things to learn. This is easy, fast, intuitive and works perfect! It also came with an unexpected heat and humidity gauge, bonus!!

Great portable basking lamp for my Turtle!
I set up the Domica Dimmable Reptile Heat Lamp in my turtle’s basking area, which adjusts according to where we are watching him. It is perfect to use with him, as the heat level is good âand it’s so easily moved to where we need it. It is incredibly convenient and easy to use, and the temp and humidity gauge is great! Works as described. Get hit make sure it doesnât touch anything. My gecko came right out when I installed it but then went back in his rock.
