Works good, cord is short
I like that this lamp is dimmable. It seems well built for what it is. I wish it had a longer neck though, because I had a difficult time using it with a regular heat lamp bulb. If you are using the included bulb you shouldn’t have issues.My only real complaint is the cord. It needs to be longer and the controls are towards the plug end of the cord, which is not convenient if your power outlet is behind or inside a cabinet. The temp/hygrometer is a nice addition.Overall, it is decent, but be mindful of your setup to make sure this is what you need and will work for your setup.

We don’t have turtles, we have cacti, and the first test subject seems toasty warm and happy!
Perfect 5 stars for being exactly as described and having exceeded expectations by a mile.Winter’s coming to us in a cold, northern state in the US. Mrs Aloha Friday is a plant lover and has a few cacti she loves. Recently, she’d read they like heat lamps, so she’s been keeping her eyes out for one, and got lucky to try this one!Now, neither of us is experienced with heat lamps, so we don’t have another to compare to, but we do have experience with plant grow lights and aquarium lights. We aren’t sure if it’s the nature of the heat lamp because of the safety involved by it’s nature, but this is made much more heavy duty than even our most expensive aquarium light. More metal, less plastic. Even the clamp is sturdier.The temperature controller allows you to adjust the intensity so you can customize it for your needs. For example, if the light were further away, Mrs AF could turn it up stronger. The timer function is so handy to have as well. Indispensable really.For living things, this seems as safe as it can get; you have to be really careful. It gets HOT! We don’t have turtles, but our fish, snails and neocaridina shrimp are sensitive, so make sure you have just the right spot for this in concert with timing and intensity.The cactus you see in the photo is “Spike,” and has been with us for years without flowering. Mrs AF says she could almost hear him say aaaahhhh when the heat turned on. MAYBE he’ll finally flower!Hope this helps! Aloha!

Ideal heat set up for small footprint size vertical cages in particular
This is a great heat lamp system for any cage, but compact cages in particular due to the lamp being attached directly to the clip.The small but mighty lamp supports up to 100W bulbs and has a wide jaw which clips very well.The thermostat/humidity reader is compact and sticks on anywhere with provided adhesive tabs.The remote control offers push of a button brightness dimming modes and allows you to set an auto-off 2, 4, or 8 hour timer.The lamp of the model I got attaches directly to the clip. The other version they sell has a bendy gooseneck lamp attachment, which would have added a bit of flexibility but was not necessary for my enclosure, which is narrow and tall. Wider enclosures would most likely benefit more from the gooseneck version, where you may want your heat source to be farther away from the side of the tank.The compact head is one of the best features. It takes up much less space than the typical metal bell shaped reptile heat lamps.And its nice to have a humidity reader.This is a wired gadget, no wifi needed.This unit functions really well and the feels like a good quality product.

Dimmable reptile heat lamp, works great for my nocturnal geckos!
This is a dimmable reptile heat lamp. It is clamp on and comes with its own light bulb. My terrarium does not have a place for me to clamp on this light fixture. I decided to improvise and use a metal tablet stand to clamp it to the top of and it works perfectly. I love the dimmable feature because my nocturnal geckos like to come out at night but still need some heat. So I turn it down very low so it doesn’t blind their eyes and yet puts out enough heat to keep them comfortable. This light was easy to assemble and the directions were quite clear. The light is made very well with a strong sturdy clamp. Right now it is working off of a 50 watt bulb which is more than enough to keep my small 10 gallon terrarium at the proper temperature. However as winter moves in, I will probably need to get a second light fixture because the room that I have the terrarium in is not a heated room. This however is a great start! I really do like this dimmable reptile heat lamp!

Lamp that keeps our insect bin warm and stable
We put this DOMICA heat lamp in one of our feeder insect bins to help keep the temperature at acceptable levels and it has done a solid job. It gives off warmth fast, which is exactly what the insects need to stay active and healthy.The UVA / UVB bulb adds extra value and seems to improve living conditions. The dimmer and timer features are especially helpful. Weâve been using the timer to manage cycles, so the lamp is not on too long, which gives us peace of mind that we arenât overheating things when itâs unattended. Mounting it was straightforward. The clip holds well, and the design lets you adjust the angle to distribute heat more evenly across the bin. The materials feel good quality. The aluminum alloy coating and reinforced ceramic base look built to last. One thing to watch out for is placement. It needs to be set up with enough clearance and checked regularly so the temperature stays in a good range. Also, because it produces strong heat, users should ensure the bulb wattage is compatible with the fixture and that enclosure materials are heatâresistant. Overall this lamp does exactly what we needed. It has helped maintain a stable environment in our insect bin and looks like it will hold up over time.

Dimmable heat control
This light is dimmable, allowing you to change the heat level as needed, as well as the brightness. The light works well, and are lasting well. While it is a decent deal, I dislike the clip on aspect. Most cages have lids, and the clip can’t be used with those cages.
