A great light, registers UVB, but percentage is a bit tricky.
There are a lot of really good things about this light that I will go into in a little bit more detail. I’m going to start with the only drawback I had on this since it is important for newer keepers. This light is a bit tricky to know what your UVB level is at when you try to adjust it. It does not have an indicator, and the instructions aren’t detailed at all. You will have to count your way down as you push the button. For the price asked, you would think that it could include some basic way to indicate at least standard tropical versus desert. (5% and 10%).That aside, this thing puts off good lighting. It registers on a UVB meter and gives off a little bit of heat, but not an overwhelming amount, especially when compared to bulbs and tubes. I do really like the color adjustment options and, in that respect, it feels like you get some of the great functions that you can have with regular LEDs in general. There is no actual installation needed unless you want to hang it or something. If you are putting it on the terrarium like I am, it is just a matter of connecting power cords. You can be ready in moments.Overall, this is another great step in the right direction for LED lighting to ultimately replace other lighting options. Contrary to popular belief, science has not exactly figured out WHICH variants of UVB spectrums actually are vital for reptiles. The common UVB standards are based on the theory that this is what they get in the wild. But they include ALL of the light from that natural habitat. There are many reptiles that were previously thought to need UVB and it has turned out that they need the heat or even UVA to thrive. That list is growing.I would suggest this light for pretty much any of your tropical non-heavy UVB reptiles. Like crested, gargoyle chahoua geckos and such. I would NOT recommend it for your heavy tropical and desert UVB needing reptiles like Chameleons and bearded dragons. I don’t think the LEDS have quite hit that level of fulfillment yet and you will be testing a theory at that point. And you don’t want to lose your pet to a failed test.I fully expect this to be a nonissue as the tech improves. But this is by far the nicest LED UVB hood I have come across so far.

Nice light but seems overpriced for what you get. No way to tell UVB output without meter.
This is a good light. It is lacking in the instructions, UVB output info, and mounting hardware. The dimming feature is pretty straight forward. Push the button and it goes up or down until it gets to 100% or 0% and then it reverses and goes the opposite direction. You can turn the white lights or UVB on/off/dim independent of each other. There is no chart to tell you how much UVB your outputting so you will need a tester for that.As for mounting there is a picture that shows you the mounting for what I’m assuming is on top of the cage but there is no mention if the spring hardware is suppose to support it for under the screen mounting. When I tried this, it swung back and forth easily and hung off of the screen a bit. The hardware included seems to be just for holding it in place on top of the cage. It does seem like a nice light but probably a bit overpriced in my opinion, especially for the 9W that’s not even 6″ long.
