Either the probe or the zero DO solution was a problem bc the probe would not be calibrated correctly. I even watched a video to ensure I was doing it right.

It works.
It works and I have had no issues for about a year now. If you know nothing about water quality equipment then this might be too complicated for you to calibrate. Get a chemical tester instead and do the drip method.

Difficult to calibrate
I have found it very difficult to calibrate and it has to be calibrated for use. I was going to return it, but I missed the return window by two days.
B. Young –
A little more involved than I was anticipating
There are 2 different calibations that need to be performed before this item is ready to go. The first one is a Zero Calibration, and the kit comes with a one time use zero-oxygen solution, which is good for 2 hours after opening then should be discarded. This calibration should be done before first use. The second calibration is the slope calibration which needs to be done each time you use the meter.Also, you need to install a new membrane cap on first use, which should be rinsed with electrolyte solution, then filled with electrolyte solution. From reading the directions, it is my understanding that the membrane cap can be reused as long as the cap is undamaged and clean (and you can attempt to clean it with distilled water).As it comes with 6 extra membrane caps and 2 small bottles of electrolyte solution, I guess it could do at least 12 readings before you would need to refill your supplies. That of course is just a guess and use case might be different as I didn’t use up all my supplies to get a solid number.I have a couple of small ponds with filters and bubblers, and was considering trying one with just plants and guppies. I wanted a way to test the oxygen when I started on that project, and this will do the job!

Accurrate when you calibrate properly!
Easy enough to read and seems to be accurate after properly following directions. The zero calibration vs. slope calibration instructions are in two separate places within the manual causing a little confusion and difficulty but once I figured it out it did okay. I tested against another DO meter and they agreed 3 out of 3 times once I did a zero calibration then a power off and rinse and then slope calibration per manual. Aside from the calibration process I really have no gripes.

Worked once but I could never get it to calibrate or take a reading again. It showed that sane number all the time. Took batteries out to try and get it working, recamibrated with solution.I so needed this for My eel tanks… thousands of lbs in them.I wanted to return but Amazon has the drop off for DHL or something as it camefrom USA.1 hr drive away to nearest drop off point.I could not take 2 hours, as we fish 12 hrs a day and cannot leave the eel tanks.I was very disappointed Last august September. Right at the start of eel season. I never knew my tank oxygen levels, and didn’t want to waste more money on a similar product.
