Derby Originals Breathable Canvas Feed Bag with No-Spill Design combines the classic design of our best-selling canvas feed bag with premium new features to increase your horse’s comfort and improve the lifespan of the bag. This sturdy feed bag features a no-spill design that’s made up of an inner canvas flap along the bottom side of the bag. This design prevents food from falling out of the bag if your horse raises, tosses, or shakes its head. If your horse gets pills or supplements with their feed, this bag is perfect for you! Our improved feed bags are also more comfortable to wear thanks to a padded noseband and elastic on both sides of the top strap. Our no-spill canvas feed bag is available in 5 sizes from Mini Horse to Draft to fit almost any equine.
NO-SPILL DESIGN PREVENTS FOOD WASTAGE – this premium feed bag is designed to prevent food from falling out of the bag if your horse raises, tosses, or shakes its head. This is great for owners who give pills or supplements with their feed.
COMFORTABLE TO WAR – unlike other feed bags that can cause rubbing, fur loss, and irritation, ours has padding on the noseband and an elastic top strap that stretches to increase your horse’s comfort while they’re eating out of the bag.
BREATHABLE DESIGN PROMOTES AIR FLOW – enclosed feed bags can become hot, humid, and uncomfortable for your horse to wear very quickly. That’s why we’ve made our feed bag with a leather ventilation patch so that your horse gets plenty of fresh air.
DURABLE REINFORCED DESIGN – our feed bags have been carefully constructed with reinforced material and stitching placed on the bottom of the feed bag, as well as on all seams. Our feed bags are also made from high-quality long-lasting canvas.
AVAILABLE IN 5 SIZES TO FIT MOST HORSES – our feed bags are available in Mini Horse, Pony, Full Horse (Average), Draft Horse, and extra-wide Draft sizing to fit almost any horse, from the smallest to the largest.

These are the best feed bags
I love these bags they are so tough.I used them on the PCT to feed out my 2 horses. These bags are very well made and I have abused for over a year now.not just on the PCT but on several other pack trips. They still look great and function perfectly.Neither of my horse have had any trouble finishing the feed and Neither of them have ended up with any sores from the feed bag rubbing on them wrong.OTHER BRANDS OF FEED BAGS I’ve used I dislike for these 2 specific reasons. When I take my 2 daughters on the PCT next year I will be buying 4 more for there mounts and pack horses.

Bad leather straps.
I bought this bag as a back up for when my cheaper ones broke. I use this bag 2 times and it trap broke in two. Do not buy its cheap leather quality.

Better than most
Itâs working great for my older guy. The inside flap keeps him from being able to throw grain out when he tosses his head. Itâs also holding up well and showing no damage. It lasted 3 months for my other horse before he tore a 3â hole in the bottom. He paws when he eats (he does it no matter what he eats out of) and he stepped on it and lifted his head. I tried to sew it but it didnât last.I have thrown the bags in the washer. Just take the leather strap off first.

Excellent bag and affordable price
I use feed bags on all my horses and have for years. There is no better way to avoid waste of supplements and feed. It is also the best way to make sure who you want to get certain feeds or supplements actually gets them. The problem with most feedbags is that they just don’t last. The Cashel feed bags are the worst and do not hold up. There is nothing out there quite like this good old fashioned canvas bag. It is affordable and holds up sufficiently though I have one mare that chews through the bottom every 3 to 4 months. At least with the canvas it is repairable so way easier to keep it going than other brands. Here is a tip though… any feed bag will start to smell after some regular use. I spray mine down with warm water after every few uses and keep them hung to dry each day. Every week I spritz them down with apple cider vinegar and let them hang 15 to 20 min before feeding. The horses don’t mind the apple cider vinegar at all and a couple actually seem to really like it. The bags never get that nasty odor when I follow this routine.

Great for powdery supplements!
Love the durability of this horse feedbag. I have used several different brands and this one is especially sturdy. It’s made of a heavy canvas material with a nice leather strap. We have a mare who was spilling her supplements out of her mesh feed bag, but this one keeps them in. She will occasionally dunk it in the water trough, but the canvas seems to still keep in the supplements. I learned quickly to get the darker colors because the white canvas quickly got muddied in our muddy paddock! I recommend this feedbag!

Not large enough for draft horse
Not large enough in circumference for a draft horse. The edge of the bag rubbed on the horses cheek bones within 2 uses.

Great nose bag.
Plenty of adjustment, and so easy to get off with the side clip. I recommend having a bucket or something for them to set it on because to get the last inch or so of feed they have to be able to push it down, so they will do it on the ground if you don’t give them something else to do it on. That gets it rather dirty on the outside so I have to rinse them off once in awhile. I primarily was interested in these because I had a few mules that were hard to catch. Now if I have this nose bag in my hand they come running up and I slip it over there ears. When they are done eating I can walk right up to them to take it off. So maybe they’re not easier to catch in general, but if I have that nose bag in my hand they are! I’ve even used it to entice my mule onto the trailer! We just have a better relationship since I stayed using them. It’s a nice heavy duty bag.
