Great power supply for any electronic projects
Got this for my teenage son for Christmas as he has begun to show interest in electronic projects. This has been s reliable and affordable option for powering various electronic projects. It offers stable voltage and adjustable current, making it versatile for different needs. The design is compact, and the display is clear, showing both voltage and current readings. It’s easy to use and works well for hobbyists or professionals needing a consistent power source. Overall, it delivers good performance at a reasonable price, making it a solid choice for those in need of a DC power supply.

Works great
Great budget power supply! I use it to test control boards for power equipment frequently, Iâve tested with a multimeter and seems to be accurate to the best of my measurement ability with a reasonably good multimeter.

WORKS GREAT! (Once you set the input voltage switch properly!)
I purchased this power supply to test some antique tube-based geiger counters that originally ran on obsolete high-voltage batteries connected in series. Since modern replacements for these 45V or 67.5V batteries can be quite expensive, I wanted a reliable and adjustable power source to confirm the functionality of my equipment before making a larger investment. This power supply turned out to be a perfect solution.Right out of the box, I was impressed by its compact sizeâit was smaller than I expected, making it easy to fit on my workbench without taking up too much space. The setup was straightforward, and adjusting the voltage was simple and precise. I tested it on multiple pieces of vintage electronics, and it performed flawlessly in every case. The voltage output was stable, and I encountered no issues with noise or fluctuation, which is crucial when dealing with sensitive tube-based circuits. If you’re working with old tube electronics or any other equipment that requires adjustable high-voltage DC power, this unit is an excellent choice. It’s cost-effective, reliable, and easy to use. I would highly recommend it to anyone needing a flexible power solution for vintage or specialized electronic projects.

Works great, but clips could be better.
So far, my experience with this has been good; it’s easy to use and feels solid. The unit was lighter than I was expecting and fits well on my workbench. Nice addition to my setup. My only complaint is that the alligator clips are cheap and hard to open with the rubber sleeve on. The sleeve makes it nearly impossible to get the friction you need to open the clips, and once you do, it’s too easy for a finger to twist and bend the clip (like my negative clip did on its first use) Do your self a favor and buy some better test leads for this and you’ll be happy! Additionally, the USB is separate from the output voltage and is not controlled by voltage or amp adjustments. Also, the USB-C is PD QC, so if you are trying to use the USB-C on a device that does not support it, you get nothing.

Works well for the price
Works well enough. It’s exactly what you would expect from a basic power supply at this price. Relatively accurate current and voltage setting and I appreciate that it shows you watts instead of having to calculate yourself. I ran the 30V 10A unit overnight at the full 10A output and it did it with no problems.Minor Complaints:The beep sound is a bit loud, but I think it’s a piezo buzzer and you can probably just open up the unit and put something over the hole on the buzzer to lower the volume. Also there isn’t an enable/disable output button and instead you have to turn the whole unit on and off which involves it booting up (takes about 3 seconds) and making a loud beep sound. Many load conditions will cause the switch mode supply inside to create audible noise.Overall I’m pretty happy with the product since it powers circuits perfectly fine with no issues and that was all I really needed.

Stay far away from this power supply.
I needed to fix something at the office, so I ordered this inexpensive power supply. Something told me to check it out at home before I brought it into the office. When I first turned it on, I was able to vary the voltage, but when I put any kind of load on it, it tripped the circuit breaker. I tried this a few times from different outlets and it did the same thing. I have a device that is a resettable fuse so I connected the power supply to that so that I wouldnât have to reset the circuit breaker each time and determine what was going on, but the power supply shorted the 120 VAC so fast it tripped the circuit breaker through the resettable fuse, which Iâve never seen before. Clearly, this power supply was defective and in fact, dangerous. I contacted Amazon and they arranged to have another one sent a few days later and guess what? It did the exact same thing. I then ordered a little bit more expensive power supply from another company, and that worked as expected. The moral of the story, donât even think about buying this power supply.

Works quite well. The display reads well, and the controls are solid. The whole units is super tiny, about half of the size of the standard american versions we were used to in the last two decades. The wire leads are somewhat basic but the unit itself is well built.A tiny interface annoyance is when you need to change the voltage by a tenth of a decimal you can’t just turn the dial, you have to press it down once before changing it or else the voltage changes by a full volt. Not a huge issue but still worth mentioning.I have only done light use of the unit so I can’t vouch for how well it performs in a continuous duty scenario.Highly recommended.

I received this today, and after a few hours of testing, I’ve found it to be quite accurate. It was a wonderful purchase, and I intend to find many uses for it. The charging cable is somewhat small, but as far as I can tell, they all come with a less expensive one.One other very important feature of this item is that is has both high and coarse control knows. These have been very useful to have. Less fiddling with chaging settings.

I recently ordered this DC bench power supply (30 volts, 5 amps) and have put it through some testing. Overall, it performs well, but I did notice a few flaws in the circuit design that are worth mentioning.First, the capacitors used in the unit are very cheap Chengx brand capacitors, which donât give much confidence for long-term durability. Additionally, using my thermal camera, I observed that three resistors become extremely hot during operation. One is marked 101 (100Ω), and the other two are labeled 152 (1.5kΩ). I believe these two are bleeder resistors for the DC voltage, as theyâre connected across the capacitors. The higher I set the voltage, the hotter they become. At the power supplyâs highest voltage setting of 31 volts, these resistors reached temperatures of up to 110°C. Ideally, the manufacturer should have used higher wattage resistors or increased their values to reduce the heat buildup. However, increasing the resistor values would slow down the voltage drop when adjusting the voltage down. The fan in this unit is quite loud when it kicks in, but at lower wattages, it rarely turns on, which helps to keep the noise levels down during lighter use.In terms of performance, I conducted a load test and managed to draw a maximum of 146.9 watts (29.68 volts at 4.951 amps) before the constant current mode kicked in. This was the highest wattage I could get from the supply.I also checked the accuracy of the voltage output using my best multimeter. The voltage was very precise, generally reading only between -0.02 to +0.06 volts off from the set value. For instance, if I set the power supply to exactly 30 volts, my multimeter would display 30.06 volts, which is excellent accuracy.Regarding the USB-C port, I tested it and found that while it does support 12 volts, it only seems to handle 1 amp. When I connected it to my battery bank, it would only charge at 1 amp, and the voltage dropped to 11.4 volts. I didnât extensively test the USB-A port, but I did connect a LED ring light to it, and it worked without issues.I also tested the voltage ripple under a 100-watt load using my oscilloscope. While Iâm still relatively new to oscilloscopes and mine is a budget model, the ripple didnât seem too bad overall. In conclusion, I think this power supply is a good deal, especially for its price. It performs well for most applications, though the hot resistors, cheaper capacitors, loud fan, and limited USB-C charging capability may be concerns if youâre planning on using it for extended periods or under heavy loads.
