Great supplement
Ultimately one could ask if you need this or not. Without testing levels or seeing deficiencies it is hard to know but do you really want to get a deficiency before treating? This is the best way to just add to their existing food and know that you are providing the basic elementals needed to any horses diet. We typically soak some beet pulp and just thrown this in with the water so its absorbed in with the food. Simple and easy. We don’t use tons of it but enough to provide sodium and trace elements for working horses. I’ve read it also promotes good hydration b/c it triggers thirst and our horses do seem to drink well but might not be correlated. Thank for this product and the price is so much less than local stores!

I have been buying this product for my horse for years now. it is a great salt supplement with all the essential minerals they need. I like the loose salt better than the blocks. It is easier for the horse to eat. I recently found for the same price on Amazon as it is in store and like the ease of buying online. Package came quickly.

Our horses love this stuff. Nothing bad to say about it. Itâs higher priced than similar products from other vendors, but I trust the Redmond brand and have used their other products. I did order plain and was sent the garlic version. Otherwise this would have earned five stars. Iâll call it 4.5 stars.

Works for my horse!
My horse was absolutely inundated with flies in early March when the weather began to warm up, and I felt so bad for him! I also pulled a few ticks off of him early in the year as well. I decided to give this a go, as we use Redmondâs salt as our household salt and I knew that worst case scenario, heâd be getting a good source of salt, but wow! I canât believe how well this has worked! Hardly a single fly around him now, and I have not found any ticks on him either, despite getting plenty on myself, and I donât even live outside. Heck, I may need to start using this LOL! He has bad teeth and I feed him mush a few times a day, so I just add this to each feeding. I have not had any issues with him rejecting/picking at his feed as a result of feeding this.

Easy access
I cannot always find the Redmonds mineral salt for equines at local Farm stores. It’s definitely a plus to be able to get it from Amazon when I need it. Product is good the horses like it top dressed over food
