Great for your hammy
This is absolutely amazing! I no longer have to worry about my hamster running out of water if I run out of town for a few days. The water capacity is close to one cup and the hole is small enough I don’t have to worry about the hamster going up the entire bottle. Hamsters should not drink from a bottle as that can cause neck problems, and I worried about my hamster getting water on their fur from a smaller dish, this fixed that issue. So far the hammy really enjoys it! Also super easy to refill!

Best water for rats
My rats stopped using their metal water dispenser and they can actually groom themselves and get their hands wet with this.Have to check every once in awhile to make sure they didn’t drop food or anything in there

Actually doesn’t leak & keeps water fresh & clean
This is the only little pet waterer I’ve ever used that actually doesn’t leak, holds multiple days worth of water & it doesn’t get moldy! Very easy to keep fresh & clean. Every few days, just dump old water, shake with fresh water a few times to clean & it works perfectly!

Mouse Tested, Mouse Approved!
EDIT: REMOVED ONE STAR. I made the stupid mistake of setting it down straight on the bedding while cleaning the wood hide it normally sits on. My mice rapidly proceeded to fill it with bedding to run it dry. Once it was empty my largest oldest female mouse decided to crawl inside and get herself hopelessly horribly stuck. The way its shaped they can crawl in easily, but cannot bend their backs properly to escape. After trying everything to get her free, I did have to break it to get her out alive. I still have another one that I still use, but I NEVER let it run out and check it a couple times a day now. Still better than a bowl, but they can be very dangerous if allowed to empty. I wish the opening for the water was a bit bigger or smaller, the size is just the right size to tempt a mouse to crawl inside and get stuck.Original review: I decided to try this, because I’ve gotten so sick of playing Russian roulette every single time I buy any sort of water bottle. Maybe it will leak, maybe it won’t, or maybe it just won’t dispense water at all. Or my all time favorite, maybe it will dispense ALL the water over night and I’ll wake up to a soggy mess and soaked unhappy animals. So yeah, I decided to try this water method and it’s PERFECT! It is a little small in size, which originally concerned me. However I’ve never had it run out for my 11 mice, and I’ve left it for as long as 3 days, to see how long a fresh fill would last them. It still didn’t run out, but the water got a little yucky for my taste so I rinsed and refilled. Obviously you need to put it up on a flat surface where they can’t fill it with bedding, or it would not work for more than a few minutes.Also for those concerned about stink or cleaning. I bought an assorted pack of bottle brushes and a bottle of dish soap. It works perfectly… Not sure why people have problems with growing grossness inside. But the ceramic has been wonderfully hygienic so far even with my nasty mice, and it has been incredibly easy to maintain. I generally just give it a quick rinse and refill every morning when I feed my crew. All in all it takes two minutes to get them fresh clean water that I won’t have to worry about for another 24hrs. I’ll never go back to a bottle or bowl for them. I wish they made a larger size for rabbits.It does look a teeny bit like a toilet. But they luckily don’t use it like one, like they did ceramic bowls. And overall it is still pretty and makes for a nice looking and efficient waterer.

A beautiful water feeder IF you’re willing to be careful about cleaning it
GOOD:1) Ceramic, not plasticBAD:1) Difficult to clean, and difficult to see if the inside NEEDS cleaning. If your animal drops food into the bowl (likely) and the food gets into the inner chamber (also likely) and you have an inattentive child (you be the judge of how likely this is), then you could easily have mold or algae growing inside the main chamber and not know it.CONCLUSION:It’s a personal judgment call. I personally really like ceramic and am willing to keep after it, but if this won’t happen in your case, I’d go for something clear and something that can be disassembled, even if that means going for plastic.Also note that another reviewer commented that this item was smaller than expected. Well, the dimensions of the item are given by the seller so it’s pretty obvious how big this is, and how big it isn’t.

New waterbottle solution
I like that this holds a lot of water but my male gerbils can’t crawl into it. It’s stable for my pets but they’re small and can’t use it. It’s well made and easy to use and dry the outside. It’s affordable all things considered and works with tanks or cages.As for ease of cleaning, in my opinion it’s not the easiest, but it’s ok. I wash it, swish dish soap inside and rinse it for a long time. Then (and I may be paranoid) I taste some water from it and if it’s not soapy it’s good.

Perfect for my Syrian
After going through multiple water bottles and their malfunctioning, I tried this one out since the reviews were good. It’s perfect. It’s heavy enough that my hammy doesn’t push it around and it’s always available for her (unlike the bottles that don’t work sometimes!).
