A Lifesaver for My CouchâPerfect Scratching Board for Big Cats!

Solid find
This cat scratcher has been a hit with my new kitty. The L-shaped design is perfect for both horizontal and vertical scratching, which keeps her entertained and helps save my furniture. The natural wood and sisal material feel sturdy, and the replaceable mat is a nice feature for when it gets worn out. The included catnip really got her interested right away, which was a bonus. Assembly was straightforward, and itâs a good size without taking up too much space. The only small downside is that it could be a bit taller for bigger cats, but overall, a great, durable scratching solution.

Scratch mat doesn’t lay flat on the stand due to packaging design.
The scratch mat is folded in the middle before being rolled in the box for shipping so there’s a crease in the surface when assembled. It should be rolled end-to-end. Assembly was easy enough; it took a bit of finagling to assemble it and hold the assembly in place before driving the screws. It would have been easier to have another person hold everything in place while I drove the screws. Now that it’s assembled, my cat hasn’t used it. Maybe I OD’d the catnip, maybe he doesn’t like the bump in the middle of the mat right at clawing height, … or maybe he just prefers the scratching POSTS I have elsewhere.

NOT WORTH THE PAIN!
I think my cat will love this if I can ever get it together. I think all of us are getting sick of being the last unpaid person in the assembly line. The very last person should put the whole thing together. This is to save us money because if we assemble it, it would be cheaper. Well then make it so we can actually assemble it. we shouldnât have to be an all Braun 6 foot man with muscles to put it together. First of all that L shaped tool is just horrible. You canât really get any torque on it. Then in this product, there was two times where one had to put three pieces together with one screw. Then to do this, you had to brace part of it against you and part of it against the wall to hold the three pieces while you tried to turn the L shaped tool to screw in one nut for the three pieces if they just made these with regular screws with threads so we could use a regular screwdriver. It would be so wonderful but you canât use regular trolls on that square shaped head of the screw. I did finally put all the pieces together, but it took an hour and at the end where it says now you can screw them all in tightly and flush to the wood, well, thatâs the part that you can never do. The initial two screws that I put in I could work in flush and the last Cross barn back I could get flush. But all the other pieces, the screw sticks out about an eighth of an inch on all parts and sizes. You cannot use an electric screwdriver to drill it in and you canât use anything but the L shaped tool and maybe a pair of pliers as a handle. But no matter how much I pushed and turned, I cannot get it to go the rest of the way for all the other screws.. I would tell people not to buy this product. Itâs not worth spending a whole hour of your life and then not really being able to finish it properly. So I am very disappointed with the product. At least it reminded me that I will call or look for in details if it says it comes unassembled. Iâm just not willing to buy these products as theyâre usually made in China and then thereâs nothing you can do about the fact that they are made miserably by some brutal engineer.
