From the original Cashel Company. Rated: OVERALL BEST PICK – John Lyons Perfect Horse. The careful engineering of the Cashel Long Tush Cushion (1/2″ or 3/4″ thick) puts relief only where you need it, allowing you to ride comfortably for hours. Your Cashel Long Tush Cushion is made with the same closed-cell foam as the popular Cashel Cushion saddle pads, which will not collapse the way open-cell foam does. It will not compact or bunch up like fleece seat savers, nor absorb and hold heat the way a gel pad will. Adjustable nylon straps hold your Cashel Long Tush Cushion firmly in place, preventing the sliding and shifting problems experienced with other seat savers. WESTERN TUSH CUSHION LONG, either 1/2″ or 3/4″ thick The LONG is Extending 5 inches more than our standard Western Tush Cushion, the Long Western Tush Cushion provides additional padding up the cantle for those of us who sit back in our saddle or who have had tail bone injuries that require extra cushioning. Perfect!
Worth every penny! I have a fused lower spine and even with a new saddle my butt and back were so sore after arena work. This cushion is perfect! Itâs adjustable and so stable. My saddle is a slick seat so I wasnât sure how a cushion would fit, it has greatly improved my comfort. Itâs also improved my riding! Iâve been able to post comfortably at the trot and am no longer sore after a couple hours of trotting. This is probably the cheapest horse related purchase Iâve ever made and well worth it!It definitely doesnât feel hard on my butt like some reviewers mentioned and doesnât feel like Iâm coming out of my saddle/seat. It has the added bonus of helping me get a better stirrup length, I fall between stirrup holes and adding the cushion was easier than punching new holes and risking offset stirrups.

Feels grrrrrrrreat!!
I have a Circle Y, Park & Trail 15″ saddle. It’s 20+ years old. I bought it new. The saddle padding has worn out. This tush cushion fits perfectly, was very easy to put on the saddle, and feels grrrrrrrrrrrreat!!!

Comfortable
Used this during a 3 day trail ride in the Colorado Mountains. It was a great addition since it had been years since I had regularly ridden. I experienced very minimal discomfort from the saddle thanks to this cushion. There was no shifting or bunching. I would recommend it for others. The first day the only “getting used to” was where the side edge of the cushion rubbed on my inner leg/thigh but I got past that very quickly.

Saved my day!
I bought two of these prior to a long trail ride that I was doing with my daughter this summer. We spent 11 hours total riding with a 6 hour stretch of uninterrupted riding at one point and these saved our butts! We rode over the Continental divide so there was a lot of rocky climbs and descents which weren’t always smooth. I think the jarring would have been killer without them. There was no issue with feeling like they were hot. It also rained and they were exposed to the rain. I was worried they would get soggy but they didn’t hold onto the water. I gave it a little shake and it was fine. The outer covering is soft and of good quality. They were easy to put on and for the most part stayed in place. My daughter’s was shifting a bit to the back but once I readjusted the strap around the horn it was fine. I would recommend these to anyone who is going to be spending a day in the saddle!

Added comfort but already coming apart.
I bought a cushion for myself and my daughter for a 6 day ride. They fit well in the saddles and added needed cushion for the long hours in the saddle. However, I was disappointed that halfway through the trip, the seams were already coming apart and tearing considerably right by the label, below the saddle horn.

Nice cushion
Nice cushion for your saddle. It definitely helps with back pain and makes the ride a little more comfortable. I would definitely recommend so far so good it hasnât ripped or tour and I feel itâs very reasonably priced.

Wafer thin!
I do a lot of trail riding in a western saddle, and was searching for a saddle pad. That would give me some comfort for long rides. Unfortunately, this is not it. When the pad arrived and I gave a quick squeeze out of the package I was highly disappointed. I guess you get what you pay for. The pad is thin and non-cushy. I honestly don’t know who this would aid. I think the company that makes these needs to revamp their manufacturing. Very disappointed, I returned. (sigh)
