Customers say
Customers find this fly mask to be among the best on the market, effectively keeping flies away from horses’ eyes and providing good sun protection. The mask fits well, stays on during play, and is true to size, though some find it too small across the top of the head. The durability receives mixed feedback – while some say it holds up for years, others report it rips easily. The nose length also gets mixed reviews, with some appreciating the long design while others find it too long for their horses.

Great coverage for white faces.
This isxa great mask. It has a good sized hole to pull the forelock through, and it covers the whole nose too! Perfect for my bald faced paint horse! The horse size fits my 15.3 hand horse perfectly and is roomy enough to cover his big jaws!

Great for the price
Bottom line:A little long on my very average sized horse. Not bad at all tho. After about three months the mesh has started to separate from the nose seam but she wears it 24/7 except when being ridden. Grazing about half of that time. So lots of wear. For the price, itâs been great. No other visible wear other than the nose area. Will buy again next summer.A very great buy for the price. I bought this for my painted Bavarian WB. Sheâs got a pink nose and is turned out from about 3pm until the morning so sun burn on her nose is a concern. Last year she had a normal fly mask that didnât extend to the nose and I was constantly fighting sweat and grazing to keep a cream on her pink nose. This year we have no sunburn and no icky creams! This mask solved our problems. Iâve had it about 3 months now and the mesh is starting to come apart at the nose seam. She is not hard on masks, halters, etc but like I said, it is a little long for her face and she grazes on pasture 7 days a week and the only time sheâs not wearing it in the summer is when we ride. So, itâs getting a lot of wear. Over all, will probably buy again next summer!

Great for draft horses
It fits my 19 hand Belgian and I didnât think I would be able to find a fly mask that would be big enough for him!

This is the holy grail of fly masks
My horse is very sensitive and fussy, and tends to rub his face on hard objects (fence posts, his leg, etc.) while wearing most fly masks, invariably rubbing an ulcer on the bridge of his nose under the nose band within a couple of weeks. No matter how expensive or high quality the fly mask (i.e., the other horses do fine with them) he would have problems. This summer was especially bad–he rubbed an ulcer under the nose band with his old fly mask and thus couldn’t continue to wear the mask until the ulcer healed, and as a result he was getting very irritated around his eyes by the flies (who ignored fly repellents). I bought this one, somewhat uncertain about how he would react to the long nose flap but desperate for something to keep the flies off. Once his nose ulcer had healed up enough, I put it on him, fearing a relapse. I was amazed at how well he accepted it. There is no irritation under the nose band, everything is healing up, and he has not destroyed it. It washes up clean in a bucket with some soap, and looks good as new. It stays on securely and fits very, very well. It is also very well made, with well finished seams and quality materials and nothing scratchy bothering the horse.

Nice Mask, Be Careful What Size You Order….
It’s a shame that Cashel doesn’t include the nifty little size chart (with a diagram) that comes in the package, here in the advertisement.Because of the reviews about sizing problems, I ordered the Arab size for my average sized, 15.2 hh Quarter horse. It went on very easily and feels like a quality mask, the material is a bit softer than other scratchy masks I’ve had. . It fit his head very well but the nose flap came out to be about an inch shorter than the horse in the picture. It will provide some protection against sunburn on my horse’s poor pink nose, but not as much as I had hoped. This is a nice mask with the right idea in mind but Cashel needs to be a lot more specific in their sizes. I also feel that if I had ordered the horse size, the mask itself would have been too big for my horse’s head but the nose flap would have been correct.Edit: Two years later and with daily turnout, this mask is holding up very, very well. No tears at all, just a few very tiny holes up near the ears-too small for a fly. Unfortunately, as said before this Arab size for a Quarter horse fits well but provides virtually no protection for pink noses! It’s simply too short!

Quality flymask
I have used this style and brand of mask for my horse for several years. They stay on well, pasture mates have difficulty removing the velcro, and the long nose protects my boy with the big blaze from getting a sunburned nose. They are easy to hand wash in a tub of soapy water and dry quickly. The eye area holds its shape so it doesn’t bump the horse’s eyes and the masks usually last a couple of years. I bought this new one to protect a surgical site on his face that I didn’t want him to be able to rub and it worked great for that.

The only fly mask I will buy! Does great for Florida bug season and sun shield is terrific for my white faced/ blue eyed mare.

Good quality product.
I only buy this brand of fly masks. They fit well and hold up for years. I still use the first one I ever bought for my horse 7 years ago

Got this for my clydesdale. He’d never wore one so wasn’t sure what to expect. Between the flues and sunburns this has been a life saver…. and crazy thing is he loves it…. I hold it up and he comes running!!! I did not expect that.

Does the job, stops the nose getting sunburnt, nice thick mesh so it lasts for the whole summer.Good quality definitely worth paying the extra money for
