I have a few of these. They do a good job of filtering. I like the electric versions better, because they are quieter.

Great filter so far
After doing extensive research on how to best care for my fish as a first time betta fish owner, I went for this sponge filter to replace the one that originally came with my bettaâs 3 gal tank. It works great and keeps the water so clean. It is quiet and keeps the water pretty still as itâs a bettaâs preference. The picture is day 1 of installing the tank and the video is day 4!

Works really really well in my 10 gal frog tank!! Only issue I have is the suction cups pop off all the time !!

Good little filter
Good little filter it’s not loud depending on your air flow. The suckers were not sticking at first but adding a minuscule coat of petroleum jelly got it in place

Suction Cups
There are two suction cups. You’re lucky if one stays attached to the glass. Most of the time, I just have a filter that is floating at the top of the tank.And no one can tell me that my pump is too strong (or that I did not squeeze the air bubbles out of the sponge) because I intentionally attached a super weak pump. It cannot be the air pressure that is responsible for lifting this sponge filter away from the glass.Let’s just face it. This is an inexpensive filter. That’s why I bought it!Can I try to replace the suction cups with better quality ones? Yep.Can I attempt to use rocks or ornaments to anchor the filter in place? YepBut I ain’t gonna.All other parts of this filter are wonderful. But I am not going to MacGiver the hell outta this thing. By the time I would be done, I might as well have bought a more expensive one, and propping the filter with a rock or (kill me) an aquarium ORNAMENT, would restrict water flowing through the sponge or ceramics, totally defeating the purpose.Maybe, I just got a dud.I just want people to know to beware; that’s all.I also already got it wet by the time I discovered all of this, so I am not comfortable taking this up with the manufacturer. My loss. Besides, what are the chances of any replacement being any different lol?

Kind of clumsy size but works
Works okay in my 20 gallon. Tips over all the time. Top suction cup fails. I’m not sure if it’s my mystery snails knocking it around, but it does not stay straight on the glass for long. Bio media seems to work and the filter sponge works fine. No flow control, definitely on the lighter flow side even with a decent pump. Kind of awkward shape, very tall and bottom heavy.
